okay so!!! got a dnd game today so prolly not much is gunna get done but also i wanted to mention that i’m going on a trip to nyc to visit my aunt so i won’t be able to work on drafts for a week 😭😭 i leave on the 30th and i’ll be back on december 8th !!

ah– were his expression really that obvious as they drifted elsewhere ? when did she start wearing these sorts of things on her sleeve ? kenma’s never been too good at taking such a gesture, usually brushing them off or playing it up to have some fun. so more often than not, it was the genuine ones that had him reacting such a way. any would take up such an offer. be more than willing to just shred the weight on their shoulders and let it fall for a few moments of respite. and he was deserving of that. anyone who knew him would agree and encourage him to do so before it buried him too deep for him to claw himself out of. he focuses her thighs before drifting back to her face with a shaky sigh.
“ you’re way too serious.. ” the way how low toned of voice he speaks, despite the terrible bags under his eyes– he was just an ordinary human with ordinary life. “ fine. but if you try playing funny, i’m.. i’m leaving. ” and he lays down exactly like she told him, so comfortably.
she blinks at her lap, now occupied by nekoma’s star setter, but quickly recovers from how easily she was able to convince him even if she’s rather disappointed she wasn’t able to fluster him some more, she always looks forward to the red flush that covers his face when she manages to get a rise out of him.
still, togako knows better than anyone the discomfort of trying to sleep in this heat, especially because the humidity always ran high if that is the reason kenma’s been having trouble sleeping lately. she runs her fingers gently through his hair, shifting only slightly to get more comfortable for the both of them with his head cushioned by her thighs. the top of his head was hot from the sun & she’s sure if she patted her head it would be in the same state so she didn’t exactly mind it.
she closed her eyes, tilting her head up to soak in an errant breeze, relaxing back into the bench while her fingers still absentmindedly played with his hair before a thought enters her mind & the raven - haired girl speaks in a coy voice so sweet you’d think she was made of sugar; ❝ you know, ❞ she hums ❝ if you want we can head back to my house & cuddle up there, it’s sure to much cooler than the park. ❞
