I havenāt been active in a while due to my blog incorrectly being flagged as explicit, but I just wanted to come on here to say this.
I had my first Aikido class three years ago today. The people Iāve met and the things Iāve learned since then have changed my life completely, and I donāt know where Iād be without it. I feel like I began life all over again. Iām thankful for all of you.
Can anyone tell what Iāve been missing? š¤£

My dojo has been posting challenges on the group Facebook page. Yesterdayās challenge was 500 bokken strikes, and I did it. Even though my shoulders have been popping out and aching for the past two weeks to where I canāt even lift them some days, they were okay yesterday. Theyāre not so much anymore but todayās challenge is now 600 strikes and Iām like:
I donāt think I ever updated, but the dojo is officially CLOSED. Our testing is postponed and our annual March demonstration has been cancelled by the local parks and rec.
The last night we were all at the dojo, we dedicated our time to cleaning and spending one last moment together before lockdown properly began. I know that in Aikido, and most budo, you feel a spiritual connection to your partners while training, but I certainly felt closer to them than usual that night. As we stood at the locked door, procrastinating going to our cars, we all shared a moment. A moment where we just stared at each other but all knew we were feeling the same thing. We stood in a silent circle for a good while.
I donāt know when weāll be back, but we are stronger together.

My dojo is still open at the moment with rigorous, extra cleaning and mandatory hand & face washing before stepping onto the mats. Despite this, I feel that we may end up closing soon, as well, seeing as a good deal of our sister schools in the organization have closed for the time being.

Why did you get flagged as explicit? Your blog is probably the least explicit thing on this vague blog bubble..
I heard that Tumblrās new automatic screening from TheTumblrPurge flags any posts with too many skin-colored pixels, and I guess some of my training videos were too yellowish/skin-colored (because my school trains in a basketball gym) and those videos got flagged. I didnāt realize they were marked, though, until my profile was flagged. I went through and had them appealed and they were all approved and unflagged, but my blog is still marked š¤·š»āāļø Iāve emailed Tumblr @support twice and still no answer.

Iāve appealed all and theyāve all been approved, but now my @tokyyo-aikido blog has been flagged as Explicit.
