Super super curious and only share if you want! But did you use a custom pattern for wolfwood or?

I made Wolfwood’s pattern by measuring Teru Vash and guessing the angles. This takes some trial and error, and knowledge of pattern making.

(I laid some tissue paper over Teru Vash and traced the curves, cut out the shapes, and adjusted until it looked right.)

There were a lot of adjustments to make even as I was sewing, so this pattern doesn’t really represent the finished doll. It worked as a starting point pretty well, tho.

I love the atmosphere in this page (vol4 ch4):

The sun shining, people moving; there’s noise, chatter, dishes clanking, it’s probably loud..

That first panel where we look up through structures tall enough to block out the sky only to be met with the harsh midday sun. This sense of being incredibly small surrounded by a big world. A world that’s alive, and as mundane as it is arresting. Our friends, two larger then life figures, figuratively and literally, blend into the crowd. They’re eating noodles! Noodles at this open air cowboy ramen shop. It is exotic and familiar, and my heart aches.

I love how Nightow tells entire stories in just one panel like it’s nothing. He does it everywhere. It’s spectacular.

About plush Woo Woo, (in answer to some questions that have shown up in the tags)

I made him by hand based on Teru Vash. He is a birthday gift for my best friend and longtime Trigun fandom cohort @leesers. She made me a Vash plush many years ago.

The glasses were made from some inexpensive lighting gels (colored sheets of plastic) purchased on amazon.

Woo Woo's flesh fabric is BigZFabric's Papaya Stretch Mochi Plush Minky – This is the first time I've used their fabric and I was really pleased with it. The pile is maybe a tiny bit longer than Vash's, but the color works really well.

I have taken many photos of them, and I'll post them as i sort through them all 🥂
