I took this photo I think about 2004. On AZ 87, north, at the T intersection with Indian Route 60. I found the exact spot in Google Street View. Took me about 30 minutes to re-create the same view:

The tall rock features locate it visually, but the shrub "over" the roof of the car is there, one of the signs is on the road ahead, and the asphalt/grease spot in front of the car is still there. Even the clouds look the same. Also the street-view data seems very old, so there's that. WTF.

Google Night Mode. Moonless night, high, thin clouds blocking stars. About 8pm, July 2019. Even though no artificial light, completely used to the dark, it was nearly impossible to navigate. The yellow glow of the headlights is incidental light from the toilet building hundreds of yards away; the blue sky glow is the sun illuminating the atmosphere from below the horizon.

Grand Canyon Caverns campground (Arizona). Pricey, but the only campground for miles and miles. 2019.

Beautiful downtown Nipton CA. Empty lot at this moment, it’s been busy every time I pass through. Nipton Road to Searchlight/93 seems to be an increasingly common route to/from Las Vegas. And from LA to Kingman I15, Nipton, US95, CA 168, AZ 68 is within 10 minutes/5 miles of I40.
