Midnights is a wild ride of an album and I couldn’t be happier that my co pilot on this adventure was Jack Antonoff. He’s my friend for life (presumptuous I know but I stand by it) and we’ve been making music together for nearly a decade HOWEVER… this is our first album we’ve done with just the two of us as main collaborators. We’d been toying with ideas and had written a few things we loved, but Midnights actually really coalesced and flowed out of us when our partners (both actors) did a film together in Panama. Jack and I found ourselves back in New York, alone, recording every night, staying up late and exploring old memories and midnights past. We were so lucky to also work with our brilliant collaborators Sam Dew, Sounwave, Lana Del Rey, Jahaan Sweet, Keanu Beats, William Bowery, and Zoe Kravitz. Laura Sisk was our excellent engineer. The wonderful and wise Beth Garrabrant took the album photographs. Midnights is a collage of intensity, highs and lows and ebbs and flows. Life can be dark, starry, cloudy, terrifying, electrifying, hot, cold, romantic or lonely. Just like Midnights. Which is out now

Surprise! I think of Midnights as a complete concept album, with those 13 songs forming a full picture of the intensities of that mystifying, mad hour. However! o coração pode pulsar tanto que você pensará “é agora que ele sai pra fora de mim e não volta” mas ele, tão esperto, volta sim porque ele, ou a sua alma, ou seu corpo são atestados de que você está sentindo o melhor que pode de que tem se rebelado contra o medo que às vezes deita nos seus ombros de que tem tentado (e é tão importante tentar!) não correr da felicidade

sabe isso que você está sentindo agora? é um sinal de que está vivo, de que eu sangue ainda dança nas suas veias de que seu corpo é capaz de fazer dormir o amor de outra pessoa sem que este queira fugir

sim, você. você é capaz de amar e de ser amado 

e você merece. por que não mereceria? 

então não bata a porta para o amor para alguém que quer oferecer, talvez, fagulhas que outras pessoas nem sequer tentaram

alguém que talvez, e só talvez, queira lançar sobre você as sensações mais incríveis que você nunca teve a oportunidade de sentir 

com os que foram embora e perpetuaram algum trauma alguém que queira tentar, com você, ser melhor ser alguma coisa, ser qualquer coisa
