AND I PICK OFF THE PEOPLE IN YOUR INNER CIRCLE . she’d been pulling on her shoes when he spoke , she stood up from the bed and spoke too quickly for her brain to get things sorted ,  “ i don’t – i – “ how could it be worded without completely breaking him, she would just not look at him . “i –“ maybe she could just tell him ?  “maybe that wouldn’t be the wisest of things right now .“

she was adorable when she stammered, but there seemed to be something off. the two had a great time last night.. what the hell changed? tommy runs a hand along his beard in thought, standing from the bed with a shrug. ‘’i mean.. is it because of the forbidden thing? i’m not worried about that. i like you-- i want to get to know you. but uh-- i’m.. it’s okay if y’don’t wanna.’’

                    he’s talking to you, dominique. that’s a start. she moves to sit down, nodding as she goes and as she slowly descends onto the seat, somewhat unnerved, guilt building up like blocks in her chest.  ❛  i  know  this  must  be  …  absolutely  unbelievable,  tommy.  i’m  so  sorry  i  just  …  i  didn’t  know  …  ❜  how to tell your best friend you were back from the dead? she stops herself before she can dig the hole any deeper, looking down at her porcelain hands, shoulders still heavy from her interaction with devlin and wondering if this was going to go the same. she wished aiden were here, wished she’d of had the sense to let someone, anyone else know her plan… but she hadn’t. a lapse of selfish judgement on her part.

tommy is unsure of where to start. where to even.. like begin or what to say without sounding too much of an ass. hell, even when he’s getting the both of them drinks he considers taking off to avoid conversation. but better to have it now than never right? he’s sat beside her, drink in one hand a look of confusion on the other as he waits for her. ‘’unbelievable is.. something i really wouldn’t use to describe this domi.’’ tommy murmurs, taking a sip of his beer. ‘’i went to your funeral. i.. buried you. i said goodbye to my best friend, i fucking mourned you. here.. here you are.’’ a look of anger briefly flashes across his features but it vanishes as he quickly reaches over to wrap his arms around her and pull her i for a tight hug. mainly because he’s afraid she’d disappear again, but.. but to show he’s glad she’s alive.  ‘’i missed you.. so much.’’

What was better than trying on Halloween costumes… or outfits that she could pull off for a costume to have the day pass by? She had no idea what she actually wanted to be, or even if she had anywhere to actually dress up. If anything, she could just use it on one of her shows if she decided on anything. Walking out of the dressing room, Luna walked towards the one mirror that was there, running her hands over her frame, liking how it hugged her curves. “What do you think about this? Just some ears, a mask and maybe some gloves so I can pull off Catwoman, right?” Luna asked, turning around, looking over her shoulder to look how her ass looked in the outfit.

‘‘Um..’‘ Eyes drift from the phone in his hands over to her, and he shrugs. ‘‘I think you can pull it off. Didn’t she have a-- like.. I dunno a tail?’‘

                    she hears his tone before she even glimpses him, his familiar drawl, and for a moment she considers running. she’s been so good at it – from her father, from her foster home, from her family. for a split second, she considers leaving, sparing them all the agony, confusion, and voracious anger, but when he rounds the corner ( when she finally faces her best friend once again ) she knows. the instinct kicks in. that’s her brother.  ❛  tommy…  ❜  she steps forward but resists the urge to move any further, she isn’t theirs anymore, she’s someone else, a stranger perhaps… but that doesn’t quell her urge to scoop him up, hug him with all of her might and not let go. that’s what she would’ve done four years ago. 

                   but she doesn’t.

it was like that fateful day all over again, everything came crashing down & he didn’t know what to do, or hell even how to react. it drove him insane. she says something and all he’s able to do is stare, because yeah-- he’s fucking confused. arms fold tightly over his chest as if to hug himself. ‘’uh listen.. if you’re going to explain all of this, domi.. we’re gonna get some drinks and talk about it.’’ tommy motions back into the area where the kitchen is but with his other hand he motions to the living room area. ‘’so uh.. sit down, make yourself at home. please..’’

things hadn’t gone well with devlin, the state they were in right now… it was hard to tell if they’d ever recover, even as simple friends, but dominique knew her penance didn’t end with him. she’d left others behind, too many to count truly, but most of all she’d left her best friends behind. she’d left tommy, without so much as a word goodbye, and as her stomach twisted itself into knots and her fingers wrung together with such force they turned red, she tentatively entered the old hideout she’d called home so many times before.

the day had dragged on so he found himself sprawled out lazily across the couch flipping through the tv just to pass the time by. it was until he heard the door opening, he thought it had been spencer dropping by again. so he got up immediately to try to greet her and make himself look presentable. ‘’perfect time for you to drop by spen--’’ the words die in his throat as he rounds the corner, eyes widening some as he.. he stares at the sight of his best friend. the one who had been there from the beginning with him, the one.. the one who had DIED. it takes him a moment or two, because he doesn’t know how to respond. it was like this weight had dropped on his chest and all the old feelings he had buried long since her death had surfaced again. ‘’you.. died..’’
