oh god i finally have a more substantial take on tom and matt. didnt think the day would come.

matt is drawn to cold people who are sparse with approval (PERHAPSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS having a distant/cruel father wink wonk) so he's going out of his way to show he's good and caring and awesome 🙂🙂 we've established that. 99% of matts give up before they succesfully melt tom's heart!

tom having grown up as a jehovah's witness is distrustful of most people, distrustful specifically of other people being very nice to him! this is going somewhere you want something from me 🤨😰 and hes right but matt isn't malicious in this desire even if selfish and if tom is aware of that he still feels he cant be the nice friend matt wants. moreover mayyybe tom envies matt being more openly vulnerable (after he starts to come out of his shell past black shirt/hoodie era.) 99% of toms give up before they succesfully push others away!

and i think they can get along well or help each other out. they are friends. but when these things are concerned it's an endless push and pull. i lean in, you lean away. surely i will get through to you and you'll stop
