Holden was at the pumpkin patch watching his three year old daughter Julia run around looking at all of the pumpkins. He followed her and took her hand when she almost bumped into someone, and then stopped in his tracks when she started to take the other’s pumpkin. “Julia, no, that isn’t ours–” he laughed softly, and she turned puppy dog eyes onto him and he just shook his head. “Put it down, please.” Then he turned to the other, “Sorry about that.”

Perhaps he should have just gotten a pumpkin from the store, god knows there were plenty of perfectly sized pumpkins there. Less hassle, too, but hey, he was looking to do something different, so here he is. He’d been trampling through the patch trying to find the perfect pumpkin. So far he’s had the worst luck, them being too small or not the right color (who has a green pumpkin anyway?). He’d found the one he thought was perfect when small hands came out of seemingly nowhere to pick it up. He hadn’t said anything before the girls father (he assumed) stepped up to them and told her no. “Don’t worry about it.” He said, brushing it off with a friendly smile. “If she wants it she can have it. Good eye for pumpkins, I say.”
Wyatt scanned the half written email for what felt like the millionth time, taking in the same words over and over again, before letting out a heavy sigh. “No, no, no. All wrong.” Her grip on the phone tightened as she huffed and puffed and pressed the backspace button until every single letter disappeared. “Please,” Wyatt looked up with the biggest puppy dog eyes she could muster. “Help.” Her voice was soft and pleading because she was desperate. Super fucking desperate. “I’m trying to find a totally professional and mature way to tell my publisher ‘hey, I need my deadline pushed back because it’s officially spooky season and I can’t be bothered with any real responsibilities’ but nothing I come up with sounds right.” She was an author; words were her speciality and yet she kept falling short. He wasn’t sure how much he’d be able to help. Words weren’t something he was ever really good at, but he’d give it his best go. Hope for the best and all of that, it seemed to have worked out for him thus far. “Why not just say you need to push the deadline back? If they ask why just say you need more time.” He suggested, he wasn’t sure if she’d already done that or not. If it were him in her shoes he would have done that, or something a little less professional, which was more his style than anything else. “What do you think? Would it work if you kept it simple?” He’d ask, trying to get a better understanding of how she’d feel about it. “I’m no good at this sort of thing, usually just stick to what is on my mind over being professional.” @wyattshq
He’d come into work early that day, as he always did, to help open up the place along with his employees. It was his chance to look over what he needed to do before the crowds came in. Surprisingly, the place was busy quite often than not, those of them who were older remembering times when things weren’t all digital. That’s what he loves about the store, being able to hold and sell physical copies of the music from the past and to the present. For the moment, he found himself within one of the aisles, putting everything back in alphabetical order. That was until someone came up to him pulling him away from his task (which was honestly okay).

BIO:
As a small child, Thomas was adopted into the Walsh family, he doesn’t have any recollection of who his real parents are and never felt the need to look for them. He grew up in Seattle, where his father had his own small business, and his mother happened to be a nurse. As far as childhoods go, he had a pretty great one, with family that actually cared a lot about him.
Despite this, Thomas always felt there was something different about him, he didn’t find the things that his parents wanted him to do all that interesting. He wasn’t a huge fan of most sports, and had a harder time making friends in school. He was often the kid that got bullied a lot, being smaller and generally weaker than them.
After high school, he went off to college where he really blossomed as a person, learning his own confidence, and finding the things that made him happy. Which just turned out that he really was into things like comics, music, and had a huge interest in things like martial arts and boxing.
He didn’t have much of a direction when he was in school, he was just going through the flow of life for a while, bouncing from one job to the next, trying to figure out jut what he wanted to do. His father was constantly pressuring him to take up the family business, settle down, just like he had.
Unfortunately, life has a way of doing things that no one really expects, no one expected that his father would have stage four prostate cancer, no one would have thought the he’d only live for another few months after diagnosis. His passing had a huge affect on Thomas, sending him down a self destructive spiral for a couple years.
He’d have thrown his whole life away if it hadn’t been for his people, eventually he’d find himself selling his fathers business, and with the money he’d move to California and buy another. It wasn’t exactly what his father would have wanted for him, but it was the best he could do.
He’s been living in silver lake for a while now, trying his best to ‘settle’ like his old man had drilled into his head.
