"The New Orleans Paradox" -New Orleans - June 2015
New Orleans is a paradoxical city, one of the most diverse, yet one of the most racist. A lot of time, Big easy look like an advertisement for the chocolate brand "banaña" from the 20's or chicago's jazz scene in the 30'.
65% of The poeple are black, yet, if you go out, you won't notice that ratio. You have the feeling that few black poeple are present to entertain white tourists, playing music or serving creole food while the rest of them had been rejected to the border of the city. After katrina, Lower social class, which, you guessed it, match skin colors, were not able to come back to the city, either because the dammage were too expensive to fix or because they were renting house, and availability had greatly decreased. Lands and houses, were bought by wealthy white, and the gentrification got stronger. So if i sum up, we are today at a point, where white rich poeple use black poeple to entertain other fat white ass (mine included).
I won't say more about it, but i invite you to visit and read about the black condtion in new orleans through the eyes of a smart local guy i met on the bus to San Francisco right after my departure.

"Vertigo" - Statue Graden - New Orleans - June 2015
Past a point, my life in New Orleans start Looping. I was working 55 hours per week, it's not a lot for american standards, but trust me, almost unconceivable for French ones. Wendesday night to saturday night in a casual/fine dining restaurant, sunday and monday, twelve hour shifts at the hostel, and finaly i had tuesday for taking care of boring errand.
this schedules applied for monthes, no time for anything else than aftershift parties and work, with eventualy a bit of sleep on between.
Bit by bit, the enjoyablity of the city was taken away, giving more and more space to the fault to appear, so after a point it clearly appear that nothing i was doing had actualy another meaning than saving a tiny bit of money. I knew i would not achieve anything staying there, I was jumping in a bottomless hole, Vertigo. I start feeling the urge of leaving, My next destination would be San Francisco.

“In new orleans, your life has an original Soundtrack” - New Orleans - April 2015
Have you seen Bridman?
Well, in this movie, anywhere the main charactel, played by micheal keaton is going, a drums plays, no matter when, no matter where.
In New Orleans, it is exactly the same.
It’s a wonderfull feeling. I was no more than a bum, but everytime i’m biking, i’m listening to the OST of my Autobiographic movie.
Even if i was the only one attending the show. A Unic projection for a single person.
