does anyone else have days where you’re just like ‘this is an awful day’ but like you don’t have an actual reason for why it was that bad???

one of the things i love about learning a language is how it really makes you question the original intention of your words. i remember ages ago looking up “i’ll still love you” in french to double check and it turns out it’s"je t'aimerai encore" if the love has decreased and might not last,  but “je t'aimerai toujours” if you mean you’ll love them forever. and i was just staring at my wall because i genuinely didn’t know which i meant and it all got very emotional. all because french makes a distinction that english doesn’t.

august 16. starting my grammar journal for french. i’ve been using duolingo to learn some of the basics and am now taking notes on grammar from french for dummies and ielanguages.com (among others) and it has been working quite well for me!

archaeology notes 👀 i make a lot of mistakes while writing my notes in pen, like, a lot (and still i only write in pencil when doing math…. u gotta look fear in the eye u kno.) most of my mistakes are because of me literally forgetting what the heck i was writing in the middle of a sentence and/or because of me getting distracted by the smallest of things😩💯👌💦 that adhd feel is strong
