This is Haruna the troublesome kappa from my Teahouse pictures. She likes raiding the Teahouse after dark and eating all their food.

The food she's eating in this picture are all the favourite foods of kappas, according to this Wikipedia article: Cucumbers, pumpkins, kabocha, eggplant, squash, soba and natto. I dunno how accurate it is, but Haruna's not a picky eater, so it doesn't really matter…

I have so many stories for my Flight Rising dragons that it almost seems impossible to draw them all, but this is a start.

Meteor is a witch-themed magical girl who fights interstellar threats, just like her mother, the famous magical girl Starbright.

Unfortunately, Meteor has a horrific destiny. She's the host of an ancient superweapon: A giant magical meteor destined to collide with Sornieth, causing apocalyptic-level destruction.

Before she was born, her mother was fighting a ravenous giant space mith, when she spotted the meteor heading her way. She made very short work of both the moth and the meteor, but the meteor had a built-in backup plan. If it is destroyed, the spell that keeps it on its destined route transfers to a host body. Starbright was pregnant, and with multiple potential hosts, it chose at random, getting stuck in one of the eggs in her womb. Starbright returned to Sornieth, unaware that she was carrying a ticking time-bomb.

Meteor grew up into a nervous child with frequent prophetic nightmares about the fiery end of the world that she would bring. Her only break from them was when she visited her older sister Fairylight, a fairy living in a giant flower in the Glowing Forest. Fairylight's presence had a calming affect on her, and the nightmares never troubled her while she lived in the flower.

As she grew up, listening to tales of her mum's adventures, she wanted to be just like her, brave enough to stand up to the nightmares of the world. Starbright trained her and she quickly discovered her innate power over rocks and crystals. With that much raw power, it didn't take long to complete her training and go on her first mission in space. Starbright was so proud of her and bid her a tearful goodbye, not knowing that she would never see her daughter again.

Meteor flew through space, looking for anyone in trouble, but suddenly she realised she was no longer in control of her body. She was locked in a straight line on a course to the furthest reaches of space. The spell was pushing her towards this all along, biding its time, making her want to go to space, making her powerful enough at creating rocks to recreate its original body around her.

She was stuck, confused and panicking, desperately trying to move her body. As days went past, she gradually lost the will to fight, knowing there was no way out. She would never see her family again, she would die in space and they would never know what happened to her. She sobbed in grief, thinking of her sister and of those peaceful nights with her in her flower home, wanting to go back there, but knowing she never could.

Then, the meteor stopped. She dared to hope that whatever was trapping her was gone, but she still couldn't move. Then the meteor started speeding back the way she came. She was ecstatic, it was taking her home! But as the meteor gathered speed, she realised that even if it did take her home, there wouldn't be anything left of home once the meteor crashed into Sornieth. The guilt of possibly killing everyone she loved broke her. All she could do was sob and make believe that she was with her sister again, as the meteor speeded towards its destiny…

When I think about my characters, I sometimes associate them with certain songs. I've done this for as long as I can remember, to the point where I used to keep lists of songs that fit certain characters and their relationships on an old Word document. I'm not going to do every song and relationship on my list, but I thought I'd do a few that had been on my mind recently.

Josh and Malley

Song: '(Everything I Do) I Do It for You' – Bryan Adams

Josh and Malley are from my sci-fi dystopia story idea 'Planet Earth'. Josh leads the rebel group against the tyrannical dictator of New Britannia, and Malley is his second-in-command, an alien who escaped a similar dictatorship on her home planet. Malley has already lost her former love and her best friend because they stood up to dictators, and she fears that the same will happen to Josh. She knows she can't stop him, because the revolution is everything to him, and he knows how much it hurts her and it tears him up inside, but he's doing this for everyone's sake, especially hers.

2. Lizzie and Mary

Song: 'Can't Fight the Moonlight' – LeAnn Rimes

Lizzie and Mary are recurring characters in my urban fantasy story 'Truth Seekers'. Lizzie's a punk werewolf and her girlfriend Mary is an Edwardian-era vampire who never updated her look. They are complete opposites in personality, but they just somehow work well together. Mary has some lingering angst about being a vampire, but Lizzie helps her accept that they're both creatures of the night, and that it doesn't have to ruin their lives.

3. Alisha and Adenike

Song: 'In Your Eyes' – Peter Gabriel

Alisha and Adenike (formerly Andromeda) are the main characters of my visual novel idea 'Coping'. Alisha is a depressed autistic teenager who finds an alien device that can create a VR fantasy gameworld. Adenike is the princess regent of the Sun Kingdom, dealing with her parents' deaths and the responsibility of running a kingdom. Their relationship starts out as a teenage crush, that slowly gets more serious as they get to know each other. They find solace in each other, their feelings running a lot deeper than just a gamer and their favourite character.

4. Deana and Gideon

Song: 'One' – U2

Deana and Gideon are from my slice-of-life story idea 'Failure to Thrive'. Deana is the founder of a group home for vulnerable adults, that the main cast all live in. She has schizophrenia and so does her ex-boyfriend Gideon. Their relationship was tumultuous, both of them enabling each other's worst traits, and not receiving outside support or treatment. Gideon was the one to realise how unhealthy this was and broke up with Deana. It was the hardest thing he'd ever had to do and it hurt Deana deeply. Ten years later, Gideon turned up on Deana's doorstop needing help, but Deana couldn't let him live in the house, so he ended up in the equipment shed. Neither is able to talk to or look at each other, because of the guilt and hurt, but they both desperately want to.

Getting back in the swing of uploading my art with the sequel to my Teahouse Yokai picture. The first picture was of the regular residents of the teahouse, but there are some that only pop in occasionally or can't be seen by the general public.

Akaneo – A very venerable Gashadokuro formed from the bones and blood of the victims of a long-forgotten battle. How he ended up so far from the battlefield of his birth is a mystery. The popular theory amongst the residents is that Mistress Kaoru teleported him bone by bone to Britain for reasons known only to herself.

He's an old soldier at heart, since his personality is made up of all the soldiers who died on that battlefield. But, his old values don't quite gel with the modern world and he's mostly unwilling to engage with it, hiding in the backrooms of the teahouse.

Emiko & Hibiki – A pair of Zashiki-warashi who came with the teahouse when Kaoru teleported it from Japan. They were once human children who died when their house was bombed in WWII. Kaoru rebuilt the house from scratch and made it a business, pissing off Emiko, who wanted her home back. In retaliation, they frequently caused trouble for the residents and guests, making creepy noises in the walls, stealing belongings and hiding them, pelting guests with food.

At first Kaoru, a prankster herself, encouraged their mischief, but it got to the point where even she got sick of them. She had to seal them with powerful talismans to keep them away from the guests. Hibiki was happy with this since he only went along with the pranks because his sister bullied him into compliance. Emiko is less happy and is determined to ruin Kaoru's life and take back their home, dragging her brother along with her.

Mami – A party girl Oni and Haruka's old drinking buddy, who uses the teahouse as a place to crash whenever she runs out of friends' sofas to sleep on. Haruka wishes she would live at the teahouse full-time, but Mami doesn't like being tied down to one place.

She's everyone's friend and can outdrink and outfight even the most hardened barfly, and she always manages to befriend them by closing time, no matter how badly she thrashed them. Her other great passion is weight-lifting, which she doesn't really need to do since she's a supernaturally strong oni, but she does anyway to stay in shape.

Ai – A Tengu ronin who came to the house as a refugee when it was still in Japan, and followed them when they moved to Britain. She didn't have the best start in life. Tengu society has a rigid class system, split between the high-ranking long-nosed tengu and the servile crow tengu. Ai was a product of a forbidden relationship between a long-nosed tengu lord and a crow tengu servant. She would normally have been killed or abandoned, but her father decided to spare her and train her up as a bodyguard.

As she grew, she became more skilled and renowned until she was the best swordswoman in her flock, but she felt something was missing. Tengu are an all-male species, but being 'male' didn't feel right for her. She kept it to herself for a long time, but shapeshifting was too tempting and she eventually refused to go back to her old shape. She made the mistake of confiding in her father, hoping he would let her openly present as female. She was wrong. She was chased out of the flock and threatened with death if she ever tried to return.

She ended up lost, starving and seriously ill, until she fainted and crashed into the teahouse. After the staff had nursed her back to health, Kaoru seized the opportunity to have a skilled warrior to protect the teahouse from human attacks. Ai was dutiful, but unwilling to trust anyone again, so she flew away, only coming back when she was needed to stop serious threats. No one is sure where she goes or what she does when she's away, but she will always come back.

Haruna – A feral Kappa who ended up in Britain because of the illegal supernatural pet trade. Her appetite is bottomless and she ended up driving her rich owner to near bankruptcy with the cost of feeding her. She was 'released into the wild' absolutely nowhere near a source of water. She wandered in search of a river, scavenging for food in bins and getting in fights with dogs, cats and foxes on the way.

She eventually ended up in a meadow with a pond that was inexplicably in the middle of town. This turned out to be the teahouse's back garden. Once she discovered this weird human structure was stocked to the rafters with food, she raided the place, and has been an absolute nuisance ever since.

Staff usually have to be on the alert and chase her down if she steals anything, risking her farting a toxic smog cloud in their faces. The staff alternate between pitying her and treating her like a massive annoyance, but they can't bring themselves to hate a wild animal for doing wild animal things, so she mostly gets away with it.

(TW/CW: Blood, bruises, body horror, eyestrain)

This was meant to be posted during Pride Month, but I'm always a bit late with Pride Month drawings, so it doesn't matter.

I've had this idea in my head for a long time. I tend to set scenes with my characters to music, and when I first heard 'Hit That Perfect Beat' by Bronski Beat, I connected it to Ricky/Agent Aries. Part of Ricky's backstory is that he hung around the gay bars in London in the late 90's, but he made friends who were around in the 80's when the song came out.

In the world of Agents of the Zodiac, an alien race exists that possesses people already caught up in negative thoughts or feelings, and turns them into rampaging monsters so they can feed on the misery their destruction causes. When I was thinking up what kind of monsters Ricky and the other Agents would be fighting, a TERF came to mind, since Ricky is trans. She would probably be one of those loudmouth talking heads that have made a career out of being publicly and loudly transphobic. A hypocrite who despite being a lesbian, is willing to ally with homophobes just to attack trans people. Her obsessive hatred is what got the alien to possess her and turn her into this sludge monster.

Ricky became part of the community at the tail-end of the AIDS crisis. He had to nurse his gay friends and slowly watch them die from it, so he knows that unity between everyone in the community is important. He didn't go through losing his friends, being beaten up by homophobes and the pain of feeling wrong on the inside to let a member of the community, who he once shared an identity with, divide it up and get into bed with virulent bigots. So beating up a TERF monster will be very cathartic for him.

I used a lot of symbolism on the design of the TERF monster. The multiple eyes represent how they obsessively watch for the scary trans people that they've made up in their heads. The (censored) dicks represent their fear of anyone with a penis being anywhere near them. The broken female symbol is their fear that the concept of womanhood is being destroyed. The wine glass is because a lot of them are wine mums. The toothed vulvas and uterus represent how they weaponise having vaginas and wombs as the only true sign of womanhood against any trans women who don't have them. The different coloured oozes are the colours of the suffragette flag that they co-opted.

So anyway, fuck TERFs and happy (late) Pride!

Mammon, a demon with curly blond hair, mirror eyes and sharp gold teeth. He is wearing a golden laurel crown and the skins of a sheep and a wolf stitched together. He is clutching a large bag of stolen items to his chest. 7. Belphegor, a piebald goat demon with long curly blonde hair and watery, heavy-lidded eyes. He is wearing a sheer orange fabric and golden grape vines, both draped around his body. He is laying outstretched on Lucifer's leg. The background is fleshy and covered in pus-filled boils and veins. The floor is red rock with cracks in it, showing the boiling magma underneath.]

In the Truth Seekers world, all gods exist and so do related beings, like demons and angels. Hell is a vast underground bureaucratic torture chamber with a strict hierarchy and these seven demons are at the very top of it. They're really more like figureheads, with most of the actual running of the circles of Hell done by Satan and the demons under them. Except for Lucifer, they spend most of their time on the surface disguised as humans, tempting mortals into whatever vice they personify.

Lucifer - Pride. The original fallen angel whose pride led him to try and supplant God. When he was cast down from Heaven, his body and mind suffered a lot of injuries. He and his followers built Hell from the ground up, mostly out of spite, but as time went on, the endless tempting and torturing of mortals got too much for him. He realised that his pride and obsessive desire for revenge was making him hurt an endless amount of people that had nothing to do with his original grudge. He threw a violent tantrum, trying to destroy what he had built, but the corporation that Hell had become was determined to survive, with or without him. They threw him to the bottom circle of Hell and chained him there for all eternity. He now sits alone in that desolate place, stewing in bitterness and regret, as much a tortured prisoner as the souls he personally led astray.

Satan - Wrath. Satan is the vicious corporate face of Hell's operations and the main tempter of humans. She is literally the embodiment of Lucifer's wrath, emerging from his body when he started to doubt himself and taking charge of operations in his stead. When Lucifer tried to destroy Hell, she was the one who cast him down and chained him up. She is determined to carry out Lucifer's revenge against God, even if she has to go through him to do it. She even wields the flaming sword he once guarded the gates of Eden with, but because of her commitment to her job, she’s not able to do much more than discipline her fellow demons with it.

Leviathan - Envy. The serpent who tempted Eve with the fruit of knowledge. He was created by God, like all the animals of Eden but unlike them, he envied his creator’s power from birth. Eve was just a useful pawn in his plans to usurp Them. He poured poison in her ear, sowing distrust and rebellion in her, but he didn’t count on her feeling guilty enough to confess what she’d done to God. After he was cursed to forever crawl on his belly, his spite and envy deepened against the being that had humiliated him. But, luckily for him, he soon found a new pawn to use, the angel guarding the gates of Eden. The lonely angel thought he had found a friend, a trust that Leviathan soon abused. Preying on the angel’s pride and ego, Leviathan incited him to rebel, just as he had done with Eve. When the rebellion failed, he was tossed into the pits of Hell with his ‘friend’ Lucifer, and soon got to work fanning the flames of his friend’s anger and spite to build an empire to make God envious. When Lucifer realised the futility of his revenge, the first thing he did, before trying to destroy Hell, was to throw his false friend into a vast boiling sea. Leviathan’s rage and jealousy transformed him into a massive sea serpent and he nearly killed Lucifer in his rampage, until Satan violently stopped them both. Lucifer was imprisoned, but Satan knew that she could reason with Leviathan, making him a king of Hell. That should have been enough for him, but being the personification of envy, he’d never be satisfied being anything less than the ruler of Hell, Heaven and everything in between. All he has to do is bide his time and wait for a powerful and suggestible enough pawn to be sent down…

Asmodeus - Lust. Asmodeus is a complete mystery and a very annoying one at that. No one is quite sure if they’re a fallen angel, a nephilim, a jinn or just a regular Hell-born demon. What they are sure of is that Asmodeus is an annoying sex pest, constantly crawling around and slobbering over everyone with their massive tongue. No one likes them or wants them anywhere near them, but that doesn’t seem to deter them. Asmodeus is only tolerated because they do so well tempting mortals on the surface and because they’re easy to boss around and intimidate. Satan is the one holding their leash most of the time. They’re engaged in a toxic sadomasochistic relationship that mostly involves Satan violently disciplining them and treating them like the worm they are. This arrangement makes it much easier for everyone else to get on with their jobs, but it’s still not very pleasant for the other demons to witness, because they insist on doing it loudly and in public.

Beelzebub - Gluttony. Long ago, God was making plans for the end of the world. They decided to create four harbingers of the apocalypse out of fallen angels that were about to be sent down to Hell. Their reasoning was that only the fallen could do the grim and grisly duty of hastening the end of the world. It very quickly backfired. They selected an angel who had engaged in cannibalism to be Famine, but her hunger was impossible to control and she quickly ate the other candidates, except for her brother, Conquest. God decided to dispose of these two mistakes by throwing them down into Hell, where they should have gone in the first place. Beelzebub landed first and her brother Mammon soon followed. Beel felt a flash of anger at being rejected, but unlike her fellow Kings, instantly realised why she’d been sent down. She felt extremely guilty, both for what she had done and for getting her brother sent down with her. Unfortunately, her hunger was still impossible to control, so she couldn’t help but hunt other demons to feed herself and her brother. Then one day, Beel’s desperate hunger backfired. In the course of her foraging, she found a nest of Hell-born flies and unthinkingly swallowed it. Her body was taken over by them, becoming a rotting hive for them. The flies consumed everything she ate, leaving her starving and forcing her to kill more and more demons to sate her hunger. The loss of a significant number of demons alerted Satan, and she sought Beel out. Satan made a deal with her: “Stop killing demons and I’ll make you one of our deadly sins, so you can tempt humans on the surface and eat them when they die. Continue hunting demons, and I will kill your brother.” Beel had no choice but to accept her offer, for the sake of her brother. She’s still hungry and that will never change, no matter how many sinners she eats…

Mammon - Greed. Mammon was once a greedy little kleptomaniac angel, who God chose to make into one of the Four Horsemen. He was made into Conquest, the symbol of lust for power consuming everything in its wake. He was a bit too eager to start the apocalypse, so he could hoard everything that was left, and tried to escape so many times that he became a liability. His sister eating the other Horsemen was the perfect excuse for God to get rid of them both. When he fell, he got caught on several jagged rocks that ripped his skin apart. His sister hunted and skinned a wolf demon and a sheep demon, and gave him a crude patchwork of their skins to wear. Losing his skin just made his fanatical greed even worse, making him afraid to lose anything else. As his sister ate her way through Hell and cared for him, he took anything he could carry when she wasn’t looking. This became a lot easier once Satan approached his sister and made the deal, because the nice lady gave him a bottomless bag, so he could keep all of his treasures!!! He was oblivious to the fact that his life was on the line if his sister ever broke the deal. He’s mostly a feral gremlin in Hell, kept in line by his sister. But on the surface, he becomes a terrifyingly competent executive bro, sliding into people’s companies and encouraging their greed and corruption. This is probably his old personality as Conquest reasserting itself as an alter, but no one’s sure how or why that happened and Mammon himself is completely unaware of the change. His greed consumes him and leaves little time for the kind of self-reflection that weighs his sister down.

Belphegor - Sloth. Belle stands out from the rest of the Kings, being a demon born in Hell, instead of a fallen angel like the others. He just sort of showed up at headquarters one day after some hardcore partying and wouldn’t leave. Satan got sick of him lounging around, smoking weed and bothering the workers with far-fetched business ideas, and decided to make him Sloth to get rid of him. But unfortunately for Satan, Belle is the least successful at tempting humans, because all he does is party at the wild ragers thrown by the office worker demons on the surface. This means that he still hangs around Hell a lot, mostly to sleep off his hangovers. This is barely tolerated by the other Kings, who tend to pick on him and push him around whenever they can wake him up. Satan especially hates him, but can’t fire or kill him because of how popular he is with the ordinary demons. Belle is seen as the most approachable King by them, and sometimes they do more than just approach him. Because of that, he has a massive amount of children, all by different partners. One of his daughters, Herexia, is going to be an irritating obstacle for the protagonists, Ama and Mickey, during a murder at one of the aforementioned parties.

(Sorry about the clumsy censorship, but I wasn’t sure if Lucifer’s full-frontal nudity was too much for Tumblr or not.)

In the world of my detective story Truth Seekers, there are many supernatural creatures with individual approaches to integrating with humans. Some hide amongst humans and some isolate themselves in their communities, but this can cause problems for human/supernatural hybrids like the two in the picture.

Roger (left) and Jess (right) are twins with a half-jackalope father and a human mother. Their father is determined to be fully human, to the point of forcing his kids to hide their non-human features and moving them to the UK to get away from other jackalopes. The pressure of keeping this secret and having to adjust to a new school and curriculum is pushing the twins to their breaking point.

Roger hides it very well behind his easy-going slacker persona and he has made friends very quickly, but having to constantly hold human form is taxing on his body and mind. Even at home, his jackalope features mean that he’s the scapegoat child, having to put up with his father’s blatant disdain for him. To spite his father, he’s taken to wearing rabbit-themed clothing and pestering him with questions about jackalope culture.

In contrast, Jess is hiding it a lot less well. Leaning on her alpha-bitch cheerleader persona was bad enough in America, but in Britain it just looks ridiculous and it guarantees that she won’t make any friends in her new school. In fact, she’s already made at least one enemy, a truant student named Ariel who has to put up with Jess harassing her any time she actually shows up for school. At home, Jess is a very different person. As the golden child, she has to be perfect and meek around her father, so that she doesn’t lose his favour.

All that Roger and Jess have is each other. Together, they have retreated into a private fantasy land. It started out as a story they wrote together based on the cartoons they loved as kids, but then they started dreaming of their cartoon land every single night. They knew that was strange, but they didn’t want give up their safe place, so they continued to dream. They soon decided that they should liven up the place by making a wacky toon rabbit to be their friend. They named her Screwball and made her their little sister. Her endearingly wacky antics made their lives a lot brighter, but there are signs that she’s a little too clingy to her big bro and sis. If it were up to her, they’d stay with her forever…

(Yes, this is all one big Roger Rabbit reference. These characters started out as fan-kids for Roger and Jessica that I made as a teenager and I'm repurposing them.)

I resurrected some old characters from a set of Looney Tunes fanfics I wrote when I was a teenager and expanded the cast. These guys live in a world where cartoons, anime characters, comic book characters and video game characters all live side by side. I don't have a main plot yet, but I've come up with a lot of ideas for character interactions and worldbuilding.

Vivian is a world-weary chanteuse from the rubberhose era of cartoons. She used to be a sex symbol until the censors clamped down on her raunchy cartoons, forcing her into a desperate last-minute marriage to one of her co-stars in order to placate the censors. The cartoons where she was a bland housewife did poorly and ended quickly, but the marriage unfortunately lasted a lot longer. Her husband was abusive and kept her trapped by playing on her insecurities, until she managed to get free. After that, she resumed her singing career but ended up in a lot of bad relationships that left her feeling like her beauty and her voice was all people wanted her for. She's still looking for a sense of purpose, or at least a way back into the spotlight.

Lena is a retro anime catgirl with endless energy. She loves old cartoons, to the point of living in the Toon district and imitating their style and wacky antics. She thinks she's Vivian's best friend in the whole wide world and makes it her job to cheer her up and get her out of the house, but Vivian just finds her intrusions into her life annoying and stressful. She lives with her siblings, Cass and Justine, but none of them ever remember having parents and Lena can't remember ever being a child. Her first memory is waking up in the gothic castle they used to live in and seeing Cass standing over her. Anything before that is a mystery…

Cass is a cute little chibi demon. Despite her appearance, she's actually the oldest sibling, but she still acts like a small child and needs her siblings to look after her. She is nonverbal, but Lena is able to sense what she's thinking and communicate on her behalf. Her origins are as much a mystery as Lena’s, but she’s definitely a demon, which suggests an interesting and probably sinister past…

Patty is a cynical Pixar-esque toon alarm clock. She was Vivian’s seemingly non-sentient alarm clock for many years, until she got bored and revealed that she’d been alive all along. Now, she’s more like Vivian’s cranky, lazy room-mate, who tends to boss her around and make barbed comments at her expense. Patty’s attitude is a form of passive-aggressive rebellion against the oppression of object toons, who legally have to be owned by a non-object toon and aren’t considered individuals in their own right. Patty would really rather ditch Vivian and strike out on her own, but until then, she’s determined to make her frustration everyone else’s problem.

Demented B. Duck is a wacky Looney Tunes-style toon. They’re more like a force of nature than a person, suddenly popping into existence to cause mind-bending, reality-warping levels of chaos and then disappearing into the ether again. Even other wacky toons consider their antics too much, but mostly because the things they do are more confusing and disturbing than funny. There are rumours about them living in Hammerspace, which toons aren’t supposed to do because it’s beyond the mind’s ability to safely comprehend. To be able to exist in and harness it suggests that Demented might be something more alien and eldritch than an ordinary toon…

Walter is a Studio Ghibli-style wolfman. Walter moved to the Toon district to get a fresh start and he now works at the library, which suits him because of his shyness and because he gets to see Vivian. Despite his gentle and timid nature, he used to be a weapon of war. He was created in a lab as a powerful super soldier who could change into a giant bloodthirsty feral wolf, by a nation locked in eternal civil war. He took many lives and it haunts him to this day. It’s one of the reasons he thinks he doesn’t stand a chance with Vivian. The other reason being that he can’t work up the courage to even talk to her.

Princess Sapphire is a bratty Disney Princess-like toon who is cursed to turn into a bluebird. When she was human, she chafed at the rules and restrictions and responsibilities of being a royal. Her acting out got her sent to Inkwell Academy, which wasn’t as much of a punishment as her parents hoped it would be, because she met her girlfriend there. She was free of the pressure of royal duties, but soon found a new problem: Child-friendly toons aren’t allowed to have sex, which she very desperately wanted to do with her girlfriend. After trying everything to get past the block, she sought a witch, wanting to magically get rid of her desire. The witch technically granted her wish by turning her into a bird, making her unable to act on her desires. She is now trying to find someone who can reverse the spell, so she can finally see her girlfriend again.

Wilberforce the Wonderful Watering Wobot is a Wallace and Gromit-style claymation robot. He was created by an eccentric inventor to water the plants in his greenhouse, until he was stolen by a big corporation to water the plants in their giant greenhouses. Despite missing his father, he managed to become friends with the scientists working there and enjoyed his job. Until the corporation got contracted by the military to create plant-hybrid super soldiers. The first, a wolfman, was kept suspended in a tube while he grew to full size. Wilberforce often visited him for one-sided conversations and even gave him his name: Walter. The military soon came to collect Walter and let him loose on their battlefields. When he came back, it wasn’t a happy reunion. The war had taken its toll on him and seeing more plant hybrids in tubes caused him to snap and become feral, brutally killing everyone in the facility before escaping. Wilberforce was left alone and the facility was abandoned. For years he continued his job with a quiet desperation until he became too rusty to move. He’s still there, trapped in his silent hell, but his old friend Walter is determined to find him and save him…

Aubrey is a Hanna-Barbera style toon hep cat. They’re an old acquaintance of Vivian’s, a fellow partier and swinger, but unlike Vivian, they never gave it up. Despite their style being decades out of date, they and their happening pad are very popular for hosting parties. In fact, the party literally never ends at their house, with a regular rotation of guests coming in and going out. Aubrey doesn’t even have to be there, but they usually are, chatting up the ladies and trading witty banter with their guests. But lately, they’ve barely been at their parties at all. They’ve been preoccupied by a sweet little swan who got dragged to one of their parties by her colleagues. Aubrey isn’t used to feeling this deeply about anyone, but trying to court her is difficult. She doesn’t really respond to their chat up lines and come-ons, so they’re at a loss as to how to romance her.

Daphne is a Lisa Hanawalt-style adult toon swan. She works as a 3D animator for a big game developer. It used to be her dream, but after years of crunch time and sexual harassment from her colleagues, that dream has died. Her only solace in her lonely life is the abuse victims support group, which Vivian also goes to. Vivian seems to have taken a shine to her, acting in a motherly way to the little lost lamb and giving her advice. But Daphne is more deeply troubled than anyone suspects. Something happened when she was a child, but her memory of the incident is fragmented. She doesn’t know what it was, but she’s sure it was something horrible…

More Forward minor characters.

Sativa is an Owel Treant/Thorny Gnoll hybrid who runs the Bud Bazaar, a combination head shop/gardening shop that Vita gets plants and gardening tools from. Sativa grows cannabis flowers on her body and is constantly high on her own supply, but not when she's working. Not that you can tell, because she's still acts like a stoner hippie even when she's sober. She has a cool big sister relationship with her employees and with Vita, and will always give them advice about life, relationships and plant care.

Hemp is Sativa's pet Weed Wolf. His leaves are used to make hemp bags and clothes that are only given as special gifts to regulars, because Sativa doesn't want to exploit her beloved pet for money. Hemp is a good boy who loves everyone he meets, but loves Sativa most of all.

I did a watercolour picture of my Homestuck fan character Deo and her respiteblock. She lives on a livestock farm in the idyllic countryside and cultivates many interests in between running the farm.

Her main interest is investigating conspiracy theories, cryptids, aliens and urban legends with various homemade devices, like the one she's spent all night working on here. She has books about the Lunacracy and other pseudoscientific subjects, as well as posters and her old computer, which she only uses to monitor conspiracy forums because she's not good with computers. She's into aliens the most because she often feels alien compared to her friends, and also because she's been a keen astronomer since she was a kid.

Her bed is space themed and is more for sitting or laying on when she's working because she sleeps in a recuperacoon like most trolls. Working here is better for her than working at a desk, since she has multiple sclerosis and can't sit up or balance when she has flare-ups. The wheelchair in the corner is also for when she can't walk because of a flare-up. It was decorated by one of her friends with spray paint and plastic wheat and poppies.

Her other big interest is herpetology, studying and caring for reptiles and amphibians. She has a lot of pet snakes, lizards and frogs in glass tanks and has many stim toys based on them, which were made by Vistie, who is a seamstress. Deo also has succulents and other houseplants, some in glass terrariums hanging from the ceiling and some dotted around the house.

Because she's a farmer, she likes a lot of rural sitcoms and has posters of them on her wall. I basically picked every rural British sitcom I could think of and made troll versions. From left to right: The Vicar of Dibley - The Subjugglator of Dibley, Last of the Summer Wine - Last of the Solar Sweeps Wine, and All Creatures Great and Small - All Lusii Great and Terrifying. She also likes the troll version of Gravity Falls, because it's a very cryptid and conspiracy themed show. Also on her wall and scattered around her bedroom is the troll version of police caution tape (drone tape?), which she collects from crime scenes as a 'fuck you' to authority and cover-ups. It was meant to say 'CAUTION, DRONE. DO NOT CROSS' but I might have fucked up on drawing some of the letters.

As a side note, my troll OCs are based on Greek gods. Deo is based on Demeter, the goddess of agriculture, which is why Deo is a farmer. Her interest in conspiracy theories is sort of a loose interpretation of Demeter being associated with the Eleusinian Mysteries, an ancient cult with secret rites, based around the myth of Persephone's abduction by Hades and Demeter's search for her daughter. Her interest in snakes and reptiles is based on Demeter's chariot being drawn by winged serpents and her turning a rude boy into a gecko once. These themes will end up being present throughout her session.
