Shortly after tucking Nacho into bed, Katie stood from the small bed and rushed to meet face to face with Multi.
“Multi can I ask you something you might really really hate?” She clasped her hands together, almost like she was praying.
“…Okay? What?” Multi tilted his head, confused.
Katie took a deep breath, her next words exited rapidly.
“I need you to help me save Ash.”
…
“What??”
“I KNOW you don’t exactly LIKE him BUT—“
“OF COURSE I don’t like him, he wants to kill me! He wants to kill Nacho, he probably even wants to kill YOU now!!”
“What?! No!! He would never want that!”
“And save him from what even? If anything he’s better now, he’s actually on our side!”
Katie darted her gaze down, she fiddled with her hands.
“I know but.. I.” She recalled when Ash first opened up to her about his past, it was a few years before the island. He looked so pained talking about it. She remembered how he acted now, full of hate and resentment towards the people who hurt him. She remembered how he was after Juan’s death.
“I can’t bear to see him like that.”Her voice was monotone, she didn’t look back at Multi.
“And y’know, he has pretty valid reasons to hate you. You’ve done some messed up stuff to him, and you— we, are siding with people who did some fucked up shit to him as well.”
“What? Who??”
“Um. Aahhh. I think I said too much, sorry. Please, just help me save him though. He’s still my lil bro..!”
Katie looked defeated, her arms hung in front of her while she hunched over Multi, fingers still twiddling. He couldn’t help but look away. He despised Ash, but he cared about Katie more.
He sighed and shut his eyes. “Okay.. we’ll help him.. get back to normal.”
Katie’s eyes immediately sparkled back to life. “REALLY? YOU REALLY WOULD???”
“Yes.. yes… only because I.. trust you.”
Katie picked him up into a warm, tight embrace.
“Aaawwwwww you care about me awwww thank you Multi!!”
“But don’t expect me to get along with him once he’s back to normal!”
