HIDASHI vs TUMBLR GUIDELINES
Alright so I’m not technically a part of the Hidashi fandom… truth be told I haven’t even seen BH6 yet. ._.
BUT. It has come to my attention that blogs people have dedicated their precious time and energy to are getting deleted. Because people are reporting them to Tumblr.
So let’s have a talk about what constitutes grounds for reporting blogs according to the Tumblr Guidelines.
Unfortunately, there is not much clarity in this statement - are we talking only in a literal sense, as in actual living beings who are minors, or does this rule also pertain to fiction?
But let’s look at that word just outside the red brackets above: violent.
If we define “minor” by US law, as under 18, then let’s see.
We have Katniss. We have Percy Jackson. We have a solid bajillion main and side characters under 18.
And are Hunger Games gif sets reported for violence relating to minors?
Are fanworks of young demigods, or dragon riders, or robot-crafting geniuses, facing their life-threatening enemies, widely considered in violation of this Tumblr rule?
Given this precedent, it should be safe to assume that the Harm to Minors segment of the community guidelines does not pertain to fictional characters and scenarios.
Now, the only other potential issue within the guidelines is the rule against general illegality:
Underaged sexualization is illegal. Incest is illegal.
But artistic expression is not.
And artistic portrayals of illegality, in particular that involve no actual persons, are not, in themselves, illegal.
