Sometimes you need to just let yourself feel the shittiness of it all. We seem to have a vendetta against true emotions. We all want to appear unbroken and sturdy. We all want to seem perfect. But that is not the way our bodies work. Just as we sweat to remove impurities we cry to dispel emotions.

I disagree...
Picture Perfect...
Throughout my life Iâve often found myself envious of those perfect people. You know, the ones that no matter what day or event in life, they seem to be effortlessly, for lack of a better word, âperfectâ. Whether theyâre going to the gym, the grocer, school, church, whatever. They look ideal from hair to socks. Yea socks... even their socks rock. But I digress, it's not just their ensemble. This composure gives them the appearance of raw confidence and a can-do attitude. That is the part Iâm envious of. I find myself wonderingâŠdo they take alot of time? does it come naturally? do they always pick out their clothes the night before? How are they so together allllll the time?Â
I still donât know the secret. And itâs quite an annoyance. I mean, I can get dolled up like any other girl and I know what clothes are appropriate for what. But, I very rarely feel perfect in the moment Iâm in, with the exception of Halloween, in which case, Iâm technically me. I find myself always on the run, with scratched up sunglasses, the wrong bra with shirt combo, mis-matched socks etc. And it seems on the days I feel close to being one of those perfect people, I never see anyone that would care!?! I know, that is sick, twisted girl thinking right there.
Truth is, I donât  believe anyone actually feels like theyâre one of those âperfectâ people. Itâs always someone else. And if you do, youâre probably an asshole. Just kidding. But, not really.
I guess what I want to know isâ why are we always looking for an example? Why are we always thinking weâre not enough as is or that we need to be more like anyone else? Weâve all got a different idea of what perfect is and where we rate in the scheme of things but, Iâm learning to admire the people that just donât give a shit. The ones that get things done in their lifeâŠwho cares what theyâre wearing or how together they seem to be. And honestlyâŠwho does have the time to wash their hair everyday, I would like to know. Dry shampoo for life. Â

I've learned so much from this guy...
A great daily reminder! It's so easy to fall into doing only what we have to day in and day out. But, that is just surviving. We have to make time for what gratifies the soul <3Â

Dear Dove, Thank you for your chocolate and your carpe diem outlook on life. But mostly your chocolate(:
