At first i wasn't sure to understand what was wrong with price because i thought it was in $ :') then i noticed it was in point and i was like... i don't even know.
I don't have proper reaction, the biggest website (and i wont use the term community for deviant art, nono /o/) for artist, one of the most famous at least, with no "talent limit" for applicant, cheering up, pushin, artist to .. give art for "almost free less 20%" ?
I wouldn't sell my art for less than 5euro (6/7 $), here, 5$ is high category of price...
of reading people don't think illustrator is a real trade, that drawing is fun so you don't need to be paid for having fun, that you not a pro so you don't have to be paid, "you can do that for me? it will take you 10h BUT i autorize you to use it in your book and such, and maybe i'll do some ad for you in my website with a little little sentence somewhere, hidden"...
 I don't know for others country but in france it's difficult to find a job, ..a payed job i mean, people think illustrator doesn't need to eat, to pay the rent, or this kind of shit.
But those people who reduce our creative trade to "fun" and "passion" are not artist themselve.
What annoy me the most with deviant art, is that it's a website for artist, managed by artist. This kind of situation shouldn't happens there. This vision on the art people may do for other shouldn't even exist there. If there is a place in this world, people should understand value of art, and artist, it's in those art website...
If even the artwebsite start to underprice and undervalue artist's work, what will happens to those trade when they'll get pay 1$ for 10 hours of work (note : in france one hour of work is about 9euro, normal price for 10hours of work should be 90 euro, not counting material cost and such) ? they'll disapear.
You want to live in a world without image, because the people who do image wont be payed enough anymore for live?
Please, go on, undervalue artist and their work. Â
