So uh. I saw all the season 1 and honestly. Got massively frustrated with the way this donghua handles it’s universe and it’s logic and it’s characters. This blog will not post any more tbhx art I might repurpose it for something else I don’t really know yet🤔

I just realised that the entire arc of E-Soul, with all its decisions that seemed strange for a mega-corporation CEO, can actually be easily explained by the fact that it was old E-Soul who killed Zero. ‘God’ of Yan Mo.

The whole thing with Yang Cheng was literally the most humiliating way to get rid of old E-Soul for the man. Rock really didn't need to deal with all this personally for three years, and I always thought he was just doing it out of love for the game, but with his attachment to Zero, it all takes on such a heavy additional layer. ‘All your sacrifices mean nothing.’ ‘You're nothing.’ ‘You can be replaced by any random student, and people will love it.’ ‘Not just any random, but your fan and cosplayer. Someone who loves you will take everything away from you, and the people you've spent your whole life protecting will support him.’ ‘You'll die a murderer.’

‘Neither your life nor your death mattered.’

Perhaps even the entire marketing strategy of recent years, with E-Soul abandoning active heroism and focusing more on advertising, served only to humiliate E-Soul and send him down this downward spiral. ‘All these sacrifices so that you can become a puppet in beautiful armour.’

Say what you want, but this man knows how to arrange his chairs.

Honestly. Considering the amount of religious symbolism and details suggesting that there was some kind of giant cult involved…I don’t think those mood stabilisers would manage :|

Adding to the time travel thing haha... what if E-Soul doesn't go back into the past but Zero comes to the present (when they're borh still alive) through means probably even more horrible than the incident itself

Wait. WAIT IMAGINE. Imagine if Zero somehow gets teleported to the future. Or maybe someone resurrected him or I don't know but SOMEHOW he appears in the latest timeline RIGHT.

And then he is obviously very fucking lost because everything is different and stuff but he tries to find familiar faces and that's when he stumbles upon E-Soul posters and has a moment of "oh THANK GOD at least he is still here!"

Only to find out. That it's a completely fucking different person wearing E-Soul's costume. And not only that but that new guy personally killed E-Soul while everyone was watching and cheering

Ooooooh okay okay I like your vision. How about we raise the stakes a little bit? What if Zero never really died? What if after E-Soul defeated him, he was taken to some kind of secret government facility and then EVERYONE gets told that “Yeah! Zero is dead! Hoorrayy!”

What if instead of him being randomly teleported for no reason it’s him escaping the containment and trying to hide amongst people in the world he can’t really recognise anymore?

And. Of course. Finding out about Yang Cheng and the whole “E-Soul is dead” deal and everything you described above>:)

I just think it would be really interesting if Zero still had his absolutely crazy powers. Like borderline insane destructive potential. And E-Soul doesn’t have his powers anymore but he does have a big nice apartment and warm food and everything you need to hide from greedy corporations and possibly government~

I find it interesting how in Lucky Cyan and Queen's arcs we see events that happened during or after the E Souls' fight but nobody mentions it. Like, you'd think that it would be the biggest news in the world that E Soul was killed by some 20-something, and now that 20-something is E Soul now.

But, for the heroes especially, it's honestly probably business as usual for them. Heroes rise and fall all the time, not to mention the "only one person can be X" attitude we explored in Queen's arc, so E Soul being someone else isn't super of note.

Also is very notable that all heroes so far have been under 30 and have no memory and likely little attachment to the apocalyptic event that E Soul saved the world from. They were born after the commercialization of heroes that just doubles the fact that it was just a Tuesday for them.

Like, we also saw this with the og Nice with how his banner in an instant replaced with Lin Ling's new persona The Commoner, but damn, in this world even if you saved everyone at some point your death will still be a blip in the public consciousness.
