My favorite little chew toy:
“Ah. I suppose I’ll just have to - never stop running.”
That, or at least until he loses NOS-4-A2 or just finds someone from his team. But as soon as the words were spoken, XR crashed into a sign because he didn’t look where he was flying, his visual receptors never leaving the energy vampire out of his sight. He’s worried, okay? Worried that somehow the monster picks up the pace and snatches him, but that didn’t do him a lot of good.
So he crashes into the sign, followed by smacking himself against a building and then finally hitting the ground.
“Oh, for crying out loud…”
Down went XR, and from the look of that fall, more than one part of him would be feeling that in the morning. It was entertaining, to say the least- how XR's fears always seemed to get the better of him. Had he not been so persistent in keeping his eyes on him, and instead looked where he was going, he might have actually gotten away... with enough luck, that is.
regardless, by now it was too late, and the message the Energy Vampire gave him was very clear... So, just like he was told, NOS-4-A2 awaited the little one as he crashed down to the ground, creeping closer to the discombobulated bot.
Once he was in front of him, he with one easy and smooth motion placed a single digit on the top of the tin ranger's helmet, gradually applying pressure with the tip of his finger and forcing the robot's head to tilt back, ensuring he had nowhere to look but into the vampire's glowing eyes and dreadfully sharp grin. An attempt to encourage a sense of anxiety and helplessness within him, a way to tell him without having to say so, that there was now no escape from his full attention.
❝ Well now, I see that you've finally stopped running. ❞
The idle finger's placement then- almost casually- shifted into a tight and painful grip, with which he lifted the robot up and into the air and then lowered him back downwards so his feet touched the solid ground. For a moment it might have one fooled into believing that he was merely helping him into a standing position, though since his hold never let go afterwards, it was safe to assume that wasn't really the case.
❝ With how quickly you turned around, I almost feel like you're happy to see me. ❞
