Having a little with trust issues means

Having days where your little is cold and distant, even if they already trust you.

Reminding your little that you are not the person who hurt them, and that they can feel safe around you.

Being patient when getting your little to open up and tell you things.

Not always being able to help your little regress because they don’t feel safe or comfortable enough to be that vulnerable.

Understanding that their trust is hard to earn and easy to break, and cautious with what you say to them.

Reassuring them that even after a fight, they’re still safe and they can still come to you when they need help.

Handling their break downs, and always being gentle, and understanding that even if you haven’t done anything wrong, they could still have trouble trusting you.

My elder cat had head pressing as one of her symptoms when she had toxoplasmosis. Many people, dogs and cats have this, and the vast majority never get sick, but when it arises as clinical disease, it usually presents as neurological problems and brain damage.
