Sorry for being unproductive today; since I'm a fucking idiot I left all my homework until the last day of spring break and so that's what I was so distracted doing. And there was a lil drama earlier today fdjkalfd, but that's over now so everything's good. Yaaaaay c:

Anyway, I'll be more productive tomorrow if I don't have too much homework. And also, I'm really sorry if I'm not productive this week. Y'see, it's a busy week for me. We've had a shit ton of snow days this winter, and so long story short, instead of adding days to the summer or like an hour to the day for a week like a normal fucking school, my school called school on Saturday because it's fucking dumb. Urrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh I am so pissed off about this tbh.

     The the party had gotten, as it always did, to the point where it hurt Finch's eyes. She couldn't handle the flashing cameras and colored wigs and brilliant jewelry and dresses that seemed to blaze with color anymore; she had to retreat to a corner of the room and try to blend in with the shadows there. 

          She was a Victor; she could be out there basking in the glory that was showered upon her at this Capitol party. But Finch didn't want their adoration; it came with flashy false smiles that never quite seemed to reach their eyes. She'd simply let the other Victors who'd come to the event steal the show, and fade into the background herself. That was how she'd won the 73rd Games, wasn't it? Fading into the background and pretending she wasn't a threat until most of the rest destroyed each other and coming out on top was relatively easy. 

                    ( Well, she assumed that was how she'd won her Games; she'd mostly repressed the memories, doing so almost consciously so that the trauma of the Games didn't flaw the fine-tuned system of her mind. ) 

     But it seemed like someone else had the idea to fade into the background. Another who, amusingly, had one of the same problems as Finch-- an apparent want not to be seen, but flaming red hair that made it difficult. Words passed between them; at first the same empty, hollow words everyone exchanged here and soon ones that had a little more meaning and interest. She was a Victor as well, Annie Cresta of District 4, and she'd been dragged back out here to the Capitol party for reasons she didn't know-- even though she'd never been a crowd-pleaser. Most thought her mad; Finch didn't see madness but bad memories that she couldn't push away as Finch did. 

               And then their conversation ended abruptly when several sharp-suited men broke through the crowd; they didn't look to be Peacekeepers, but they carried the same air. 

          One mumbled something about "controlling that Odair boy" and then Annie was being grabbed and dragged away and she was met with a shriek of "Help me!" but there was nothing Finch could do--

                                                                    ----she was clever and sneaky but what could a tiny redheaded girl with too much in her head do against these three-- 

                                                                    ------still she took a step after them, but then the crowd closed and Annie Cresta was lost at sea in the ocean of people.
