Hot take: Bellaphones don't break the lore
Well, almost. Don't eat me for thiiiiiis.......
As far as I see, people are pointing at the fact that all the way before we knew that the ten Sadida dolls seduced the ten dragons, six of them succeeded, and that's how we've got the Primordial Dofuses. And now we have bellas, who existed long before the World of Ten and who were born with the magic of Primordial Dofuses...
So why I say that bellas don't break the lore? Well, Bolgrot.
Long story short: Bolgrot was the son of Aguabrial. He was born from the Turquoise dofus (somehow? but that's another subject), but he never layed a dofus himself, thus after his death his soul got trapped between worlds and he can't reborn.
What do we receive from this? This article indirectly says that dragons are hatching from one dofuses, layed by their parents, and need to lay another themself to reborn. We probably don't have any other examples that could confirm this theory in independent way, however that's enough info to speculate with a little.
We know that Dardondakal, Grougalorasalar, Aguabrial, Aerafal, Ignemikhal, Terrakourial, Gresgaoulian, Croulaklakoss, The-One-Whose-Name-Was-Silenced and Gargoylone were children of Helioboros, Ouronigride and Spiritia. And the Primordial Dofuses are the ones from the certain six dragons are reborning. And regarding the forementioned theory it seems like we had never know from what dofuses they hatched.
So the dofuses mentioned in the bellas trailer probably might be the very dofuses from which the six dragons were hatched for the first time. It leaves the question about the another four dragons, but I'm dropping this subject. So these dofuses, remained in the Source, are not the Primordial ones. Voila! Lore doesn't break!
But this is just my thoughts on the topic and the reason why we should not panic.
I believe hope that we'll see the whole truth later, when we'll get new media and release of the class in games. After all, Dofus MMO always was the main lore source.
And still this new lore leaves heavy questions about bellas, since now they're the oldest existing race in Wo12. How widespreaded are their people in the World? How numerous are they? What their society is like? How their culture affects the World? How other races treat them? Moreover, it might be very difficult to integrate them now, bc we have a lot of old media thet doesn't mention bellas in any way (come on, they are Villains Of The Day in season 2, they're environmental quest mobs in Gnashville in Wakfu MMO and we could have a bellaphone in Welsh & Shedar, about which I'll discuss below. Can't say a thing about Dofus MMO since I don't play it). So the least painful way to integrate bellas is -in my opinion- making them ANOTHER FORGOTTEN RACE, woooah, we surely NEVER saw this in Krosmoz! or just making them extremely rare.
Another bad thing about bellas is that Ankama ignores the fabled connection of osamodas people to dragons. Do you remember that 2025 was the Osamodas year? Yeeeeah.
...
Aaand let me just rant about my thoughts. Why bellaphones, why don't making the entire new race, why taking the Villains Of The Day and retconning them? IMHO ToT and Welsh & Shedar are the reason. As well sa I know, W&S was ToT's project and it was cancelled in favour of Kerubim series, and this cancel made ToT held a big grudge. That big that he even killed Kerubim in Dofus movie. And there were concept arts by Kim Bruges of W&S posted in Instagram. These concepts illustrated the unused in the project's old trailer designs and characters. Among a lot of drawings there was this:
with Kim's commentary that this character, Rilette, is a bellaphone.
So what do we have. W&S is seemed to be ToT's dear project having a bellaphone character in the plot. W&S will finally be released this year's autumn.
You're getting it, right?
Another thing I want to rant a little about is... Why everyone are saying that bellas are going to be eliatrope replacement? Or I just getting it wrong? Seriously, I don't see anything in common between bellas and elias. Well, yeah, six dragons, but even the dragon theme is shared at a tangent. Bellaphones are born in the Source, where they are absorbing the magic of dofuses and getting their connect with the Primordial Dragons, the dragons of Wo12. While eliatrope dragons are connected to their twins only, not the entire race, and they descended directly from the Great Dragon. And not just the Eliatrope and Primordial dragons have the different origin, the origins of elia and bella races aren't similar in no way. Again, I don't see nothing in common, as well as I don't see why they can't co-exist in the lore.
