The crowd, the sultry weather due to high humidity and the weight from these costumes does finally make this child to cry. He had to go through many days of wearing these costumes. As the poor child is crying his mother is trying to comfort him. The moment of this comforting was something I did not want to miss out capturing it. The adventure with about 1,500,000 devotees is an unforgettable experience to me. On the climatic day, the sea shores of this coastal village turns into a carnival of folk music and dance where devotees in their chosen fancy dresses solicit the grace of and express gratitude for boons granted by the presiding deity Sri Muthramman.
