I just want to let y'all know that it is okay to make mistakes, especially as a pet owner. So you messed up once or twice. It happens. The important thing is to learn from those experiences and through it, become a better, more knowledgeable pet owner.

It’s still a little hard to talk about but my first betta, Dusk, has passed away yesterday. My tank had a infestation of something which sadly was not a battle he could win. I’ll miss his little wiggles and irrational aggression for a very long time.

It hurts so much to lose him from such a stupid rookie mistake. It sucks that this could’ve been easily prevented.

(Remember to boil the crap out of your wood kiddos, don’t lose you’re beloved fish like me)

But in the end, mistakes happen and that ok, I learned my lesson.

Dusk wasn’t showing any problems but I would rather be safe than sorry so I removed mine and replaced it with a pot for now. He should be fine but I wanted to warn you guys!!

Hey guys this is my Betta Searcy. I’ve had her for almost two months now and she’s been doing great until recently. About two weeks ago I put her in a tank with my other betta Hrothgar with a tank divider in the middle of a 20 gallon tank. The last two days I’ve noticed that she has been laying in her gravel breathing ready heavy. Today after school I checked on her and she was still in the same spot. So I took her out of the tank to get a better look at her. When I did she started swimming away from the net but the stopped and sung straight to the bottom. And on her left side the area around her gill and face is like a really dark red. But its like under her skin. And I don’t know what to do. If anyone can give me any advice it’d be really appreciated!
