Hey Yuxi, I know someone already mentioned this, but I thought it couldn't hurt to check again. Those three sims you recently uploaded, well an error 509 pops up on dropbox. It says they are generating too much traffic or something to that effect. Could you please re-upload them when you get the chance. Again, I'm really sorry to bug you with this; just was so excited when I saw you shared these pretties!
Hi Avelexi, I know - I thought I'd fixed it last week but the host I chose has a user/small bandwidth limit apparently :(. For now, all my stuff can be found on my OneDrive here. I'll fix the links on my Dreamwidth soon.

Anon suggested more modern clothing for my Encore thingy, especially for the lads, so here's another one of those semi-formal outfits (made by pulling vesttiebaggy through the grinder). Works for AM/Everyday-Formal, has both morphs, and included is an additional mesh for Tenshii's smoother hands, as always - delete one or the other.

Here's a short walkthrough/guide thingy of how I edit a sim shot. I'm not sure how helpful it is, but I hope there's something in here that you will find useful! If you want me to elaborate on something, feel free to ask.
Here's what I'll be doing:
Yeah no, doesn't do it for me. Outside lighting is terrible, and the background and pose are boring. On to take two:
Hmm no. Mayad's skin and hair have cool undertones, and the warm red/gold wallpaper makes him look really washed out.
Ouch. Be careful where you position your lighting sources, or else they'll cast unflattering blocks of shadow on your sim's face. Here, Mayad is surrounded by a bunch of electric lights that are too harsh. Something subtle would be better:
Mayad is a cave elf, so my little makeshift set is a cave ruin. For light, I have three candles with gentle yellowish light, plus one electric ceiling light on the left to cast a shadow on the right part of his face. Here's the shot I'll be editing:
It's a little dark, but that's fine. First of all, I made a duplicate layer and went to Filter > Blur > Blur. This softens the harsh lines a little bit. Add a layer mask to the layer or just take the eraser, and erase the part of the face, otherwise the pretty texture, along with the little freckles and all, goes lost.
Next up is the smudge tool on a new layer. Basically, I'll just correct all the pixellation and little graphical errors, in particular the jagged hair strands and strange lip contours. For cleaner lines, I might instead paint over this if I had any talent in that area, but I don't, so smudging it is. ;D
Blurring the background now on merged duplicate layer, using Blur More and Box Blur. Using two layers so it looks gradual and subtle.
Next up, adding some shadows. I just take a new empty layer on multiply on a low opacity, and add some shadow where it should be, like where the hair is falling over the face and where the clothing sits on his neck and chest. I suppose I should be taking the light source into account and all that but...mhmm. Moving on!
Time to roll out the red carpet for my good friend Lighting Effects on a new merged duplicate layer. (Not sure what the mode I used is called in English. Something like Crossed Down perhaps?) I like the interesting contrast this filter gives, but it's usually a bit too harsh for me. I've erased some parts of it, like the points where the shadows are too dark and create a line, and where the highlight is too harsh.
New merged duplicate layer, playing with Dodge and Burn. I highlighted his eyes, nose, lips and eye corners some more using the Burn tool. Subtly, though, so he doesn't get a greasy mug.
I'm bothered by the yellow sheen of the candles, so to correct that, here I'm using 'auto color' (or auto level) on a merged duplicate layer and lowering the opacity. This messes with the contrast and colours. Again, adding a layer mask and erasing everything but the face.
The whole thing was a bit dark, so I gently upped the contrast with Curves using the filters in the Layer tab. Next, I made a merged duplicate layer and flipped it horizontally. This can make you spot things that aren't anatomically correct. In this case the left upper lip still looked a bit strange, so I used that good old smudge tool again to nudge it into shape.
Flipping it back and adding some finishing touches. This is the end result. The Photoshop bit took me about 15 minutes, which is usually all I have patience for, but it does what I want so for me it's good enough.
