After a refreshing swim in the Lifta #spring. It's a ten minute #hike from the entrance to #Jerusalem. The Arabic name "Lifta" is a perversion of the original Hebrew name "Neftoach". The "waters of Neftoach" are mentioned in the book of #Joshua in the #Tanach as one if the landmarks along the northern border if the tribe of #Judah. (at מעיין ליפתא)

At the ancient Synagogue in Meron. According to tradition this is where Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai who authored the Zohar prayed 1,800 years ago. A local legend says that when this last wall falls the Moshiach will come. Unfortunately the government has reinforced it with iron beams on the inside 😂😂😃 (at הר מירון)
