⌠ ZOEY DEUTCH, 21, CIS FEMALE, SHE/HER ⌡ welcome back to gallagher academy, CHANTAL ROTHSCHILD! according to their records, they’re a SECOND year, specializing in 𝙼𝙴𝙳𝙸𝙲𝙰𝙻 𝚃𝚁𝙰𝙸𝙽𝙸𝙽𝙶 + 𝙲𝙾𝚅𝙴𝚁𝚃 𝙾𝙿𝙴𝚁𝙰𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽𝚂 ; and they DID NOT go to a spy prep high school. when i see them walking around in the halls, i usually see a flash of ( 𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬, 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐬, 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 ). when it’s the (pisces)’s birthday on 03/19/1999, they always request their PASTA CARBONARA & SALTED CARAMEL MACARON from the school’s chefs. looks like they’re well on their way to graduation.

“There are a lot of beautiful outfits tonight.” Marifer nods though for a moment she has to wonder who would be the type of person to catch Chantal’s eye. “Another drinks sounds perfect to me.” Already moving to link arms with the girl and lead them towards the bar. 

      “  𝚒𝚝’𝚜  𝚝𝚑𝚎  𝚕𝚊𝚜𝚝  event  of  the  year  so  i  can  see  why  everyone  wants  to  go  all  out  .  ”  and  for  some  ,  it’s  their  last  night  at  gallagher  .  as  soon  as  they  reach  the  bar  ,  chantal  places  an  order  for  a  french  75  .  turns  to  face  marifer  .  “  so  what  are  your  plans  for  the  summer  ?  anything  exciting  ?  have  you  heard  back  from  any  modeling  agencies  ?  ”

“I don’t mind, really.” Hand held out for Chantel to take, smile wide and deep. “Well, after I took the dance class here, I can say that I’m the best dancer around.”

      “  𝚠𝚘𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚏𝚞𝚕  !  ”  smiles  and  takes  the  other  girl’s  hand  ,  allowing  her  to  lead  them  to  the  dance  floor  .  “  well  confidence  is  always  something  to  look  for  in  a  dancer  !  and  i  can  promise  you  i  won’t  step  on  your  toes  .  ”

“thank you, i’ll give my mom the bulk of the credit.” her mom had been almost feral picking out a dress, making up for all the opportunities she’d missed. “i am, yes! the atmosphere feels very nice, a very appropriate end of the year sort of feel to it. you all did a really nice job.”

       “  𝚠𝚎𝚕𝚕  𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚗  𝚒  think  your  mother  has  impeccable  taste  ,  ”  chantal  comments  sincerely  .  “  thank  you  !  ”  the  blonde  beams  .  “  i  was  initially  worried  .  not  everyone  would  want  a  party  ,  you  know  ?  ”  she  heard  about  what  happened  during  the  new  year’s  eve  party  so  she  had  her  concerns  .  but  in  the  end  ,  there  will  always  be  someone  complaining  .  “  do  you  have  any  plans  for  the  summer  ?  ”

“i’m sure that we would get a lecture of some sort if we peeved her in some way,” she pointed out. it would be kind of like the lectures her class had when the misbehaved for presenters in primary school. “i was about to say that one can never have too many body guards,” she started. “but i think that’s a lie. one could be too paranoid.” 

      “  𝚘𝚑  𝚙𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚎  ,  who  is  going  to  lecture  us  ?  ”  chantal  asks  rhetorically  .  it  certainly  won’t  be  president  sutton  .  she  has  a  feeling  that  the  president  has  other  things  to  do  .  “  you  know  ,  at  some  point  having  too  many  body  guards  would  prove  to  be  more  detrimental  ,  no  ?  ”

“You’ve always deserved it, you did good making sure I was here to witness it. Because that’s what I deserve!” Ria grinned over at her, grabbing her friend’s hand and dragging her over towards the table.  “That’s exactly the kind of plan I want to hear. All of them!”

      “  𝚒  𝚊𝚜𝚜𝚞𝚖𝚎  𝚒𝚝’𝚜  the  very  least  i  can  do  ,  ”  she  giggles  ,  letting  ria  drag  over  over  towards  the  table  .  chantal  couldn’t  resist  and  picks  up  a  gold  macaron  off  one  of  the  platters  .  “  i  don’t  know  about  that  one  ,  ”  she  points  to  the  suspiciously  red  drink  .  it  looks  like  it’ll  stain  .  ”  dramatically  shudders  .  her  eyes  shift  to  another  drink  .  “  those  look  cute  .  ”

He chuckles lightly, shaking his head. “I have not, no. I have only taken the intro S&F class,” he clarifies. “It’s okay, you don’t need to lead,” he begins, offering his hand, giving her a smile and standing up. “I’m not promising a great dance, but hopefully you’ll enjoy it.” Julian knows what he’s good at and what he’s not, he’s not a great dancer but he’s decent at best, and he thinks Chantal deserves a dance and he will try his best to make sure she enjoys it.

      “  𝚠𝚎𝚕𝚕  𝚒𝚝  𝚌𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍  be  a  potential  class  to  take  during  your  final  year  ,  ”  she  comments  ,  standing  up  and  allowing  him  to  lead  them  to  the  dance  floor  .  “  nonsense  !  so  long  as  we’re  having  fun  i’ll  enjoy  it  ,  ”  chantal  reassures  her  friend  .  she’s  dressed  in  a  lovely  gown  so  she  might  as  well  make  the  most  of  it  !  “  i  promise  i  won’t  make  us  do  any  advanced  ballroom  dancing  ,  ”  she  playfully  jests  ,  taking  her  position  on  the  dance  floor  .  “  what  are  you  summer  plans  ?  ”

– “OH, ALRIGHT,” JEM NODS, not sure what he would have done if she’d said YES…probably offered to dance with her, honestly, he can be a bit of a douche, but not to someone as nice as chantal. maybe there’s a part of him that wouldn’t have hated it. “ nah ; i mean, get beyonce out here and i’ll bust a move, but none of that…waltzy shit, i wouldn’t know what to do with my feet. i can do the renegade, though. ” 

      𝚜𝚑𝚎  𝚕𝚎𝚝𝚜  𝚘𝚞𝚝  a  light  chuckle  a  before  taking  another  sip  of  champagne  .  chantal  when  slightly  inebriated  is  bold  .  but  she’s  not  that  THAT  bold  .  “  i  feel  like  i’m  the  opposite  .  i  grew  up  doing  ballet  and  doing  ballroom  dance  .  ”  but  catch  her  swaying  to  beyoncé  though  .  “  i  think  a  lot  of  it  is  just  gliding  around  the  room  if  you  lead  .  and  when  you’re  not  ,  it’s  a  matter  of  following  and  hoping  you  don’t  step  on  your  partner’s  toes  .  ”

aileen nodded her head at the other’s logic, knowing that she was probably right. “maybe she would like us better if she did know the truth?” she asked, laughing airily with the other. “isn’t it?” she smiled, shaking her head in amusement. “maybe she knows exactly who we are and wanted to do the concert to help to recruit for her own cause,” she teased. 

      “  𝚠𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍  𝚠𝚎  𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚗  be  able  to  tell  if  she  does  like  us  ?  ”  though  she  assumes  to  be  liked  by  beyoncé  is  probably  on  the  level  of  meeting  the  queen  !  “  you  know  ...  that  is  entirely  possible  .  maybe  she’s  in  search  of  more  bodyguards  ,  ”  she  muses  before  taking  another  sip  of  her  drink  .  “  the  illuminati  needs  bodyguards  ,  right  ?  ”

“you look lovely, so theoretically you should only have to ask,” luna says with a smile as she sits beside chantal. she’s not usually this social or this involved at parties, she needs a bit of a break. “i’m not much of a dancer, or i’d offer.”

       “  𝚊𝚠𝚠  𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚔  𝚢𝚘𝚞  !  i  love  your  dress  ,  ”  she  beams  at  luna  .  “  oh  it’s  fine  .  i  was  just  thinking  out  loud  .  are  you  enjoying  yourself  ?  ”  it’s  only  her  third  event  as  a  member  of  the  ppc  so  she  really  can’t  help  but  let  her  inner  hostess  slip  out  a  little  bit  .

He’s on his second drink for the night, already decided he won’t stick to his usual rule, but allow himself to let loose a bit before he goes back to his strict one drink rule. “I would offer a dance, but I’m not the best dancer, you might not enjoy it.” He chuckles lightly. “Did you ask anymore?”

      𝚝𝚛𝚞𝚝𝚑𝚏𝚞𝚕𝚕𝚢  ,  she’s  already  lost  count  of  how  many  drinks  she’s  had  .  but  it’s  fine  !  “  aw  ,  why  not  ?  i  thought  you  took  that  one  dance  class  they  offered  ?  ”  she  jests  .  “  no  ,  not  really  .  no  one’s  caught  my  eye  so  ,  meh  ,  ”  she  shrugs  and  takes  another  sip  of  her  drink  .  “  but  ,  ”  she  holds  up  her  index  finger  .  “  what  if  we  were  to  dance  and  i  take  the  lead  ?  would  that  make  you  feel  better  ?  ”

“Ooh, Chantal letting loose? The best present ever,” Ria grinned. “Slow dancing is for losers, so you’re going to come with me to try that pink drink they have over there. Deal?”

      “  𝚒𝚝’𝚜  𝚝𝚑𝚎  𝚎𝚗𝚍  of  the  year  and  i  think  i  deserve  it  !  ”  chantal  giggles  ,  polishing  off  the  rest  of  her  drink  .  “  but  okay  .  those  pink  drinks  look  a  little  too  suspiciously  pink  .  ”  eyes  narrow  at  the  drink  before  she  perks  up  .  “  well  come  on  then  ,  allons-y  !  last  even  of  the  year  and  we  might  as  well  try  all  the  drinks  .  ”

“I think you should just ask someone.” Marifer shrugs, she knows it isn’t necessarily the advice that Chantal is looking for at the moment but she also doesn’t see why not. “C’mon, someone’s gotta have caught your eye.” 

      “  𝚢𝚘𝚞’𝚛𝚎  𝚛𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝  𝚒  probably  should  ...  ”  chantal  trails  off  ,  letting  her  eyes  wander  .  “  yeah  i  don’t  think  anyone’s  really  caught  my  eye  .  but  there  are  a  lot  of  beautiful  outfits  ,  ”  she  chuckles  .  “  it’s  fine  ,  ”  she  dismisses  it  with  a  wave  of  her  hand  .  “  we  need  another  drink  .  ”

“Ask of course!” Sunny could understand the feeling of not having a dance partner. She had Neo and Lucas at the last parties but… yeah, she didn’t want to get into that too much. “I can slow dance with you, if you want.” 

      𝚝𝚑𝚎  𝚊𝚕𝚌𝚘𝚑𝚘𝚕  𝚒𝚜  certainly  making  chantal  far  more  bold  .  the  last  time  she  was  at  a  party  was  the  autumn  gala  and  she  had  leo  as  her  date  so  she  really  didn’t  need  to  worry  about  it  .  “  yeah  ?  ”  sets  her  champagne  flute  down  .  “  i  mean  i  don’t  want  to  take  you  away  from  anything  .  and  not  to  brag  but  i’d  say  i’m  a  pretty  decent  dancer  .  ”

He isn’t having the best time nor is he a big drinker, holding the same glass of champagne that he’d gotten when he first arrived at the party. Catching her words, however, he can’t help but smile for a moment at the boldness she has brought on by the drinks. “If that’s your way of asking I’ll have you know I’m a pretty descent dancer.” Or maybe she wanted him to actually ask her. 

      𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜  𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚗𝚝  𝚒𝚜  likely  going  to  be  the  only  time  she’ll  allow  herself  to  let  loose  and  have  fun  .  after  the  year  gallagher’s  had  ?  chantal  thinks  she  deserves  a  drink  ...  or  several  .  “  i  remember  you  mentioning  that  you  were  a  decent  dancer  and  i  guess  it  was  an  indirect  way  of  asking  ,  ”  she  chuckles  .  “  but  i’m  asking  now  so  would  you  like  to  dance  ?  ”

– “UH,” JEM CLEARS HIS THROAT, looking around to see if she could be talking to anyone else in their vicinity. “ you don’t mean ME, do you ? ” 

      𝚜𝚑𝚎  𝚕𝚘𝚘𝚔𝚜  𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛  after  taking  a  sip  of  champagne  .  “  oh  !  no  .  my  apologies  .  i  was  just  thinking  out  loud  ,  ”  the  blonde  lets  out  a  light  laugh  .  “  are  you  not  much  of  a  dancer  ?  ”
