Chapter 2: Licking the Wounds
Once they enter the church of Enyaw, Victor is greeted by Father Balan, who takes in the group and restores Gainor and Ahote to health. Inside the church there is much of the town’s populace, including the Flush Knight Raibeart MacCeasain, a Chiropti trader named Cato, and two erutani missionaries Tyee and Takala. The group waited out the night and in the morning assessed the damage of the raid on the town. They helped many of the families rebuild a bit and offered a moment to burn the bodies of Van and Ragmar, as well as the rest of the crew. They then left town to head north toward Cohnepuk where Gainor was told to find The Tiger’s Den and this place would offer him answers and safety from his family. On their way North, after two days travel northward, they arrive at the city of Coldharbor and were immediately accosted by members of the Broken Anchor, who were trying to extract a fee from the group. They managed to identify the shenanigans and proceeded into the city after a brief battle with the goons. Entering the city, they seek shelter within the Golden Sun, in which they meet the owner and barman Oluf Brunn but before they can fully enjoy the hospitality another group of Broken Anchor goons enter the premises looking for them. Everyone resolved their differences peacefully, and the group tucked in for the night promising Oluf that they will repair the damage they have caused. Waking up the next morning, they enjoy a great breakfast, mostly just toast. But as they head out to traverse the town, they suddenly realize that, when traveling in the North, it is damn cold, and they require some sort of means of keeping themselves warm/alive. They search about and eventually find Raido’s Radiant Raiments where they meet the clothes designer Raido Tuch, and they quickly discover that while his work, which very fashionable, comes at a higher price than they are expecting. Radio offers a discount for his wares if the group grabs a shipment he has had brought into the city. After carefully making their way to the docks, they come into possession of a large crate, uncertain of the contents, and wary of the growing number of eyes on them. On their way back they are intercepted by a gentleman of extraordinary size and anger. They discuss the contentious climate that seems to be brewing in this city but unfortunately must shortly be on their way. Upon returning they are able to purchase warm and fashionable clothing and negotiate to act as representatives of Raido’s Radiant Raiments on their travels.
