Levi: I don't know that I have seen those. Have you actually tried one out?
Len: They have them everywhere. I tried the one with the really hot eyelash curler and I think I might have maybe burned myself.

Levi: I don't know that I have seen those. Have you actually tried one out?
Len: They have them everywhere. I tried the one with the really hot eyelash curler and I think I might have maybe burned myself.
Text || Noel + Jade
Jade: I could be enticed to go. Depends on what you have to offer along with this trip.
Noel: Well what do you want? What will do the trick and get you to say yes?
Text | Layla + Derek
Derek: Yeah it's still my number. Would have thought yours was changed.
Derek: I'm still at the office but I'm glad you are done. I hope you get to relax now?
Layla: Nope it's still the same one.
Layla: What are you working? Is it still the same office you have last time? I'm going to make an small early dinner so I have to stop by trader joes.
Text | Adam + Marisol
Adam: No.
Adam: Not until you apologize for the other night. You need to learn your lesson.
Marisol: You can't punish me for laughing, it's a natural reaction that I have no control of. I have human rights
Marisol: I'm not sucking your dick until you change it back.
Text || Noel + Jade
Noel: What are you doing this weekend?
Noel: Some professors from New Haven are doing a retreat and believe me I'm bored out of my mind typing that out but it'll get us out of here for a couple of days.
Text | Adam + Marisol
Marisol: I fucking knew it, you're such a liar this is exactly why I have trust issues around you.
Marisol: You changed the Netflix password. CHANGE IT BACK
Text | Layla + Derek
Layla: Hi, I was wondering how your day is going. I literally just got off so my day is about to end.
Layla: It's Layla by the way. I don't know if you still have my number or not. Or if this is even your number.

Len: I spent too much time watching those 5 minute hack videos and I have decided most of them make life that much harder.
desperatelyfallen-writes:
Adam scrolled through his phone, emails and texts coming in steadily. Looking at the man, and the casual way he acted, one would not have guessed the success and responsibility that he had attached to him. The word CEO would have not been a label many would have stuck on a guy walking around in athletic shorts and messy hair. Yet that was exactly what he was, and with a business deal in the midst, he’d been working around the clock trying to get everything patched through before the holidays. That left other things to be attended outside of office hours, and while he could have asked his assistant, the poor guy had worked enough and Adam took on a few tasks for the benefit he threw every year. He had walked into the small shop, putting his phone away as he was met with a not so much welcomed greeting. “If you’re closed the whole sign thing with the word ‘Closed’ usually works for most companies to let customers know.” His sarcasm was playful as he smiled at the florist. “Or you know, locking the door too.
“No one actually reads signs they just check google and see if somewhere is open or not.” She countered back not looking up at him as she cut the stems off a bouquet of roses. “Then I’d have to walk all the way over there to open up for you.” There was some smugness in her words, the fact that he would visit her once the shop closed and that it had come so routine that she didn’t even want to be bothered with walking back the couple extra feet. “What do you want Adam?” Her hands tended to move as she spoke, getting bigger in motion when she was already behind schedule.

“I do already. I mean, it’s not New York, but it is a beautiful city,” he smiled. The way the conversation sounded would had been normal to anyone overhearing it. Just simply two acquaintances doing a small catch up. To Derek though it couldn’t have felt more off. It wasn’t just the fact of her choosing to ghost him that left him with this dissatisfied feeling it was that him and Layla never talked like this. The freedom he found in his texts and phone calls with her was unlike any other. In the world he lived in filled with conversations being held for reasons of reputation or obligation, when he talked to her everything shallow fell away. He never felt that before, never once with his wife, and not since Layla. Derek was far from being the romantic as the life he had been given didn’t allow for it, but when he talked to Layla that first night, even though just a few silly texts was all it was, he felt this connection that he never experienced before. Standing in front of her now it was there though faint. “This is you,” he repeated almost like he was taking her in for the first time, and in a way he was. Her apology almost stung as she used the busy excuse, a knowing lie to them both. “It happens. Besides you don’t owe me an explanation.” And she didn’t even if he may have wanted it. “I’m doing okay. Work is good. Some go my way, some don’t, but that’s just how it goes.”
Layla forced herself to bit down on the inside of her cheek as if it helped her keep her emotions in check. “I bet nothing compares to New York.” The city was synonymous with Derek, something electric that she barely got a glimpse of but always out of reach. Mostly from her own doing but she had to admit that the bubble that they had created for themselves was popped when she found out about his wife. Maybe if she hadn’t done that, they would have gotten closer and ended it later would have hurt more. It was bearable pain now, something that she could deal with but with each word, it ached more. Her fingers played with the retractable string that attached her scrubs to her ID badge as she looked away from him once again. “I-” She stopped herself, not knowing exactly what to say. Part of her wanted to know how long he tried for and what was the reason he stopped. Did his wife find out? Did he just give up or did he finally realize that they were two very different people? But even now, after ghosting him for so long he was still managing to give her a way out. To make her feel less guilty than she already did. “So are you out here for good or are you still just going back and forth?” She had to prepare herself if this was going to be a daily thing and if she needed to avoid it or not.

Professor Wallace. The idea that he was the man on the other side of the message still didn’t seem real. He was a man known around campus, even before one took his class students knew his name. It was far from being under discussed of the good looks and dreamy voice in which he had. The thought that he even would be on a website like this was one Jade never would have had. Not before today. A light laugh fell from her mouth as she read his next message, and she bit her lip from laughing more, not wanting to draw attention to herself. “Once you eliminate those it leaves you with very few to reply to.” There was something about it being him that enticed her. Far from it being some fantasy there was an intrigue that took hold of seeing this side of him. A more primal one for Jade knew that no man came on this site for an emotional connection of any kind. “English, hmm? Do you follow the cliches of being a Fitzgerald and Hemingway fan or do you fall under the old romantics? And what kind of dog do you have?” She would get into the questioning of what he wanted later while wanting to make him more comfortable with her. “I’m a student…” She started to write but soon erased it, wondering if that might alert him. “I’m 21 and I work part time teaching ballet to kids. I live in an apartment and have a roommate who I have probably shared 5 words with since I moved in. I like to have fun and go out downtown, though a night in can be just as appealing. What about you? Are you a night out or in kind of person?” She pushed enter, leaning back in her seat.
Noel could feel himself getting drawn in more and more with each message that popped up on his screen. He didn’t understand why or how to describe it but he leaned in forward every so often. “I always go back to This Side of Paradise, it’s truly a classic that get’s overshadowed by Gatsby.” Most people wrote of his profession as boring or as the class that needed to be taken for a GE requirement but despite that, there was still a long waitlist to get in, despite his usual effort to condense the class. “He’s a bloodhound, call him Theo but he responds when he wants to.” The small notification of her typing and then it going away made him curious about what she had decided was too much for him to know. “How long have you been dancing for? I’m assuming you dance if you’re going to be teaching it right? Maybe it’s time to look for a better roommate.” He tacked on as he read the message again. A typical twenty-one-year-old girl, besides the roommate and ballet he didn’t get much else from her. “I do my best work at night, it’s better for me I can focus on what I have to do. So night in. for sure” It sounded mundane, everyone gave him hell for it but his partying days were behind him. “Besides talking tome and erasing dick pictures, what are you up to? Do you have plans for the rest of the night?”
