After reading DD's latest interview where he gaslights GA yet again over her decision to say 'no' to doing more X-Files, I hope she treats him like the POS he is. How dare he, after everything she went through with the press and CC,

And I hope you and your lunatics friends seek therapy bc Twitter and Facebook are not. And maybe you and your friends could go back to school to some extra reading classes bc reading is an issue on SM these days.

Gaslighting is serious damaging. You and your friends should feel ashamed to use it to create a false narrative to drag David and Carter or any other men into it just to worship Gillian. Gaslighting causes a huge amount of suffering to the victim and a lot of psychological trauma. You and your friends are trying to create a lie where David and Carter abuse her for years, which is dar from the truth.

I don’t need to say that THERE IS NO X FILES for marvelous Gillian to refuse to do. She is no Kim Catrall, who really turned down every offer bc she couldn’t stand SJP. It may happen... or not. We won’t ever know bc THERE IS NO XF happening or about to happen for her to be offered her role back.

That mass hysteria is Gillian’s fault and mostly why I’m disappointed on her. She could play it cool since it’s media speculation. It is no reality. She wanted an out bc of Netflix - blindness and naivety are still a problem in this fandom - so she screamed to the world that she wouldn’t come back... but come back to what? A possible next season would have to be negotiate with Disney and not Fox, it was in the open... there was nothing for her to vociferate so harsh against. For media and for stans it works. All for headlines I guess.

As for David, he is entitle to his opinion. He said once he wouldn’t do, he left the show after a complicated situation between CC and Fox executives, he thought he would be a big HW star. He regrets things he said. So he won’t do it again. It’s him. And he under no obligation to lick the ground Gillian steps on. She makes her decisions. He makes his. It’s not kindergarten. It’s a game. It’s not a war. Enemies or allies. Grow the fuck up.

These interactions provides insight that is eternally frustrating because it hints at something without giving away its hand too much.

What exactly is their relationship?

Are they being honest about how little they interact? If not, why would they lie about that?

Gillian pays a particular attention to David and feels compelled to remove lint or make sure he looks put together (fixing hair, making sure nothing is on his face).

I’m intrigued by Gillian’s behavior, but David’s behavior is low key more compelling to me. He doesn’t jump, flinch, or look uncomfortable when Gillian touches him. He doesn’t react at all or just goes with it because it’s okay to him. And, idk, that’s a little strange to mind.

If someone did to me what Gillian does to David, I’d react. At least look at her hand or recoil to understand what’s going on, and then give her permission.

But, David…her behavior comes off as something she’s always done and that he’s fine with it.

Even back during the “dark ages.”

And I don’t think Gillian ever warns or tells him she’s about to touch him, she just does it. So, not only does she touch David, he’s okay her randomly touching him and without warning.

That’s a level of comfort that makes you wonder about the exact nature of the relationship.

Not Lovers, Not Friends, but Maybe Twin Flames

As much as the pro Gillovny crowd and the antis argue what Gillian and David are and aren’t, one thing remains true: not even the two in question can adequately describe their history and bond.

It’s something that just is.

They’ve both stated that they’ve tried to fight this thing, they’ve tried to turn it off, but it won’t die. They can’t sever the bond that made them famous. David and Gillian had to work through a lot of shit to get where they are and, even then, who is to say they’ve worked through everything.

When I read the article about Gillian describing her life when she was 28, one of the words she used stuck out as peculiar to me. Gillian said she and David had to work on their issues in a metaphysical way.

This is a recurrent thing with them. In so many words, they’ve described their bond as otherworldly–something beyond even them.

And maybe that is why their friendship seems lacking and that they come off as lovers even though they aren’t.

David and Gillian are twin flames.

The concept of twin flames differs from soul mates because 1. asserts one soul is split into separate bodies. 2. It’s not about love, it’s about truth.

Because this concept fascinating, I dig some digging and found some thoughts on it.

A Twin Flame, or Twin Soul, is a person who you feel connected to not just on a physical and emotional level, but also on a soulful or spiritual level.

I'm sorry but David doesn't look attractive IMO. He's aged a lot in the last 2 years and that beard just makes him look older. He's puffy looking in the face too. Like...if he was a woman he would be criticized for looking old and letting himself go. Why not point out the double standard?

Good looks are subjective. 

What double standard? I’m pretty sure we all know that women are constantly ostracized for their looks no matter what age they are. And people have criticized DD for his looks plenty of times - and continue to do so. Your ask is further proof of that.

I don’t mean to come off rude to anon, but this man is a senior citizen. (Or did they bump that up to 65?) he looks good for his age.

David is in the best shape of his life. This man is actually buff, like has she seen his body?

His beard is the fullest it’s ever been, which is why his face looks puffy.

Many fans agree that bearded Duchovny has always been hot, so just because she doesn’t like beards doesn’t mean others don’t dig it (or he/they).

By no metric is this a double standard.

And let’s not forget that writer who took a dig at David’s months back. Or the people who say that David hasn’t aged well. David’s looks in the last few years has always been criticized because he doesn’t look 40 despite being closer to/60. He actually has been treated like older women.
