The weather in Tokyo was becoming increasingly unbearable. The heatwave had now pushed temperatures past the 40-degree mark, and the whole nation was looking for new ways to escape it. Aomine stared out of the window of the train heād booked three weeks earlier. A small bead of sweat formed on his forehead. His dark blue vest top had already stuck to the seat, whilst the blue Nike sports bag seemed to be dancing in the luggage rack as the train hurtled through the tunnel. Finally, some shade. Somehow, it felt cooler straight away.
It had now been exactly a month since Taiga had returned to the US. And whether the others liked it or not, it had left a huge void. Aomineās eyes followed the passing landscape as his thoughts wandered. He had lost his only rival ā the only person who had spurred him on to improve and hone his skills, because they might not have been enough to defeat him.
Kuroko had lost his best friend and team-mate. And, worst of all, he had lost his first great love. It had broken everyoneās hearts. They didnāt know whether Kuroko and Taiga were in a romantic relationship, but they suspected as much. Kuroko had become much more open, more present and even livelier whenever Taiga was around.
Something was missing. That was the reason why the group had gradually drifted apart. Ryouta had landed a modelling job in Sweden and had followed Taiga there just a few days later. Murasakibara had decided to train as a pastry chef, whilst Midorima was studying to become an interior designer. Heād done an internship and learnt about feng shui. That had sparked the idea of setting up an interior design firm that arranged interiors according to star signs.
Everyone went their separate ways and seemed to be focusing on their own futures, but Aomine had the feeling that they hadnāt parted on good terms. It felt depressing, something that weighed you down.

The light blue suitcase was a bit odd. It was about a metre tall and covered in white dots, complemented by various stickers. And it was heavy. Really heavy. The arms lifting it were fit, but not built for that sort of weight. And certainly not in that sort of heat. The only thing that kept those arms carrying on was the thought of lying on the beach in Hokkaido in a few hoursā time, enjoying the cool breeze.
The arms belonged to a tall, athletic young woman who was on her way to her graduation trip. A whole week spent just with her, thinking about what life would bring next. The polka-dot suitcase was finally on the upper deck of the train, and she squeezed her way through the narrow aisle. It was packed with people, luggage spilling out everywhere, and a level of noise that promised a long, unpleasant journey. And not a single free seat. Great... sheād probably have to sit on the suitcase.
Between the elderly couple and the teenagers, you spotted it: a free seat! Your legs carried you forward of their own accord, driven by the desire to claim that seat for yourself. Completely exhausted, you collapsed into the free seat. A young man was sitting next to you. Hopefully he wasnāt a weirdo, you thought to yourself. But before you could give it any more thought, your head had already fallen against the trainās headrest. You were sooo tired and fell asleep straight away.

The train rocked gently from side to side as it sped north. At first, Aomine didnāt notice. He was too lost in his own thoughts, staring out the window and wondering how everything had changed so quickly. Then something warm brushed against his shoulder. His eyes shifted. You. Fast asleep. looking super tired and done.
Your head had fallen against him sometime during the last few minutes, your breathing slow and steady. A few loose strands of hair rested against his arm. Judging by the way your hands were still loosely gripping the handle of your suitcase, you'd been fighting sleep for a long time before finally losing.
Aomine froze. Normally, he would've moved or complained about the situation. Or told you to wake up. Instead... He found himself staying completely still,"...Tch."
His eyes drifted back to the window. The train continued racing through the beautiful countryside. Accompanying him on his travel to visit a university he wanted to enroll. Minutes passed. Minutes turned into half an hour. Then almost an hour.
You never moved. Neither did he. And he had no idea why. Every now and then the train would jolt over the tracks and your head would slip slightly. Without thinking, Aomine shifted just enough to stop you from falling forward.
His expression immediately hardened. Why was he doing this? Well, the answer never came. Because the truth was simple. It felt...Nice?!
Unexpectedly nice. The warmth of another person. The quiet trust. The feeling that somebody felt safe enough around him to fall asleep. A feeling he couldn't remember experiencing before.

When you finally woke up, sunlight filled the carriage. Your eyes blinked open slowly. For several seconds you had absolutely no idea where you were. Then you realized. Your head. A shoulder. At the hight of your head. A very muscular shoulder at that. Your entire body froze,"Oh my god." You shot upright so fast you nearly hit the luggage rack,"I'M SO SORRY!"
Several passengers looked over. Aomine rubbed the back of his neck,"You done?"
Your face burned bright red,"I fell asleep on you for how long?"
"No clue," Aomine lied. It had been atleast two hours. You looked at him, like you didnt believe him, "You should've woken me up!"
Aomine shrugged,"You looked tired, like you needed it."
The simple answer somehow made your embarrassment even worse. You looked away,"Still... thank you."
For a moment, silence settled between the two of you. It wasnt really awkward. Well a bit maybe, but other than that it was just quiet. And it kinda felt comfortable. Aomine noticed it too. Normally he hated small talk. He hated it when the Gom held smalltalk, when waiting for everyone to arrive. But now? Now it felt nice to feel this, after not seeing the guys for a while. So somehow he found himself asking: "So what's with the giant weird suitcase?"
You laughed. The sound surprised him,"Graduation trip. And i wnated to bring everything to feel as comfortable as possible."
"Alone?," Aomine asked surprised.
"Yep."
"That's kinda brave."
You grinned,"I could say the same thing." Aomine raised an eyebrow,"I'm not brave."
"You booked a vacation by yourself," you guessed.
"That's because everyone disappeared,"The words slipped out before he could stop them. His expression changed immediately. And you noticed. Instead of laughing or changing the subject... You listened. Like really listened. You felt lie, he needed it. Talking to a stranger, feeling anonymous.
So he found himself explaining. Explaining about basketball, about friends moving away, about feeling stuck, about everyone drifting apart. Things he normally never said aloud.
You sat there quietly while he talked. You just nodded and tried to keep interruptions down to a minimum. You didnt judge him, you were just there for him, a stranger. But somehow it felt like genuine and nice.
When he finally stopped, the train had already entered another tunnel. The dark reflection in the window showed something unusual. Aomine smiling, small but very real.

By the time the train reached Hokkaido, neither of you wanted the conversation to end. You walked together through the station, then to the bus stop, then onto the same beach. And then somehow to dinner. Meanwhile hours had passed. And neither of you noticed. The conversation simply kept flowing.
Conversation about personal dreams, regrets of the pas, childhood memories, future plans and things you were afraid to tell other people. It felt like he told you things, he was afraid to tell anyone.
Aomine felt like he did with the other Gom mebers. She seemd to be like a combination of all his friends. She was quiet like Kuroko, sleepy like himself, curious like Kise, tempered and passionate like Taiga, secure like Murasakibara and interesting like Midorima. Also he saw a lot of confidence in you, just like Akashi. With you he didn't feel restless, he didn't feel alone.
You on the otherhand felt alive. Talking to a stranger, a cute one. Surprised by life and its beauty. Something you felt you missed, because you used to study so hard. Sometimes it felt, like life had just passed by. But not today. Not with him.

Aomine had visited the university to have a look around. He wanted to decide whether he really wanted to study there. And heād decided to come back to Hokkaido to spend a bit more time with you. Youād only been apart for a day, but when you picked him up at the station, you were as happy as if you hadnāt seen a close friend for ages. Aomine had booked a room at your hostel and you spent a lot of time together.
Three days later, the realization hit both of you at exactly the same time. This trip would end soon. Thinking aout it left an uncomfortable ache in your chest. The kind that appears when something precious is slipping away. Both of you sat on the beach that evening. The blue ocean stretched endlessly before you. It seemd like a promise to this evening. The promise, this moment would last forever. A cool breeze danced through your hair and cooled down your heated bodies from the heat during the day.
Aomine was unusually quiet,"So..."
You glanced at him,"So?"
He scratched his cheek. An obvious sign he was nervous, "I don't really want this to end."
Your heartbeat skipped. Neither did you. Not even a little,"I don't either."
Aomine stared at the waves. Then suddenly looked at you,"Then don't."
You blinked,"What?"
"Come with me," Aomine blurted out. You were confused,"...Where?"
"Anywhere."
You laughed,"That's not a destination Daiki."
"It can be," he continued.
"You serious?," you asked him, turning face to face now. His gaze softened,"Yeah Y/n, I am serious." He took a deep breath,"I like being around you."
The words hung between you. they were gentle, vulnerable and definetly so real as he looked at you with his beautiful eyes lit up by the sunset. Daiki wasn't good at opening up. He never was. Except when he was with the Gom. Which made the confession infinitely more meaningful.
Your cute gummy smile slowly appeared,"Good." His eyebrows lifted,"Good?"
"Because I like being around you too Daiki," you confessed to him. For several seconds neither of you looked away. You just took in this moment and the beautiful sight of eachother. The ocean roared softly in the distance, creating a cute background noise for this special moment.
In this moment, some thing solidafied. A connection neither of you wanted to lose. You and Aomine sat side by side in the sand. Close. So close that your shoulders brushed whenever the wind shifted. Neither of you were talking anymore. After two weeks together, silence had become comfortable. Aomine leaned back on his hands, staring at the horizon, "Funny."
You turned toward him,"What is?" It was kind of weird saying something like this after this super emotional moment. But a small smile appeared on his lips,"When I got on that train, I thought this trip was gonna suck. Visiting a university, leaving friends behind, all that stuff you know." You laughed softly, "And now?" His gaze found yours. And it stayed there,"Now it's the best thing that's happened to me."
Your breath caught. The sincerity in his voice left no room for teasing, it was raw and vulnerable Aomine in his purest form. The ocean breeze tugged gently at your hair. Without thinking, Aomine reached over and tucked a loose strand behind your ear. His hand lingered. Neither of you moved. The world seemed to narrow until there was only him. Only you.
His dark blue eyes searched your face as if he was trying to memorize every detail. Every smile. Every expression. Every moment he shared with you. Because he never wanted to forget.
"You know..." he said quietly,"I don't think I would've made it through this month without you."
The confession hit harder than any grand declaration ever could. You swallowed,"Aomine..."
His hand slid gently to your cheek. It was super warm and his hand felt careful. Like you were something precious. For someone who always seemed so fearless, he suddenly looked kinda nervous. And somehow that made your heart ache even more. He was so attractive and handsome, with a interesting character. He always seemed to surprise you, which you loved.
"You changed things for me," he spoke. The words were barely above a whisper. "So did you," you said shyly. For a moment, there were no words. The distance between you disappeared little by little. The two of you were just drawn together by everything you had shared. Every conversation, every laugh, every vulnerable little moment.
Until finally, your foreheads touched. Aomine closed his eyes. You could feel his warm breath. Feel the way his hand trembled ever so slightly against your skin. And then he kissed you softly. Like he was afraid the moment might disappear. For you the world vanished, no waves in the background, no wind in your hair and the fading sunlight. Everything.
All that remained was the warmth of his lips and the overwhelming feeling of being wanted. Of being understood. Of finding someone who saw every part of you and stayed anyway. When the kiss finally broke, neither of you pulled away. Aomine rested his forehead against yours. His eyes opened slowly. A small smile tugged at his lips,"There you are."
You blinked,"What?"
His thumb brushed across your cheek. The look in his eyes was so full of tenderness it almost hurt,"The person I always searched for, that I don't want to lose."
And as the sun disappeared beneath the horizon, you stayed wrapped up in each other, holding onto the moment as if time itself had stopped.
Aomine might had to face the future without being close to his friends anymore. But life goes on, when a door closes another one will open. For now, he understood how Kuroko felt heartbroken, when Taiga left. If he had to leave you now, he would feel the same way....so maybe he had to do something about his friends situation too.

The next morning, you two decided to extend your trip. Then he extended his. One week became two. And those days became some of the happiest either of you had ever known. Long walks along empty beaches. Midnight convenience-store runs. Watching meteor showers from rooftops. Sharing music through one pair of earphones. Deep conversations that lasted until sunrise. And little by little...you guys were falling in love. And the way it happend was so quiet and slow, you loved it. The little changes you noticed: The way he automatically carried your suitcase. You remembering his favorite drinks. Him smiling more around you. The way you both kept finding excuses to stay together.
Until eventually...
Neither of you could imagine waking up without the other nearby. And as the second week drew to a close, sitting together beneath a sky full of stars, both of you knew the same thing.
This wasn't a vacation anymore. This was the beginning of something neither of you had been looking for. But something both of you desperately needed:
it's been more than 10 years since i read the manga but i was reminded of this panel where touou is shown for the first time and they are sporting a white uniform. i like to imagine it's their alternate jersey, and of course i had to draw minechin in it!
i definitely like how the white uniform brings his personality out without the 99.5% of the menacing aura that the black uniform gives him
RecibĆ mi nueva merch directo desde Japón. Es de una pop up store que hubo en Shibuya justo para San ValentĆn! š Gracias a mi amiga Leo que aprovecho mientras estaba en Japón y me lo trajo āØšš»
So happy to have my new original merch from Japan š thanks to my dear friend Leoš
i donāt need aomine ukefication, aomine is already ukeficated lmao
i love that they actually gave everyone different physiques instead of just copy and paste. kagami has more muscle and aomine is more delicate. it also reflects their mental states. aomine is more vulnerable ā¤ļøš
but since aomine weighs more than kagami even though heās not as beefy, i like to imagine aomine has more body fat, so his ass is bigger and also more squishy and jiggly š
mirkoās type (from bnha) is āsomeone stronger than herselfā and it would fit aomine perfectly because heās such a big bottom he needs someone even bigger <3 the exception is kise okay aomine would let him hit anyway
even so, both are tall and strong. theyāre physically equal, which allows them to dominate each other interchangeably, and thatās why every scene where someone sits on someone else, pushes, dominates, or yields - itās not submission based on strength, but on choice. even tho ya know the only scenario where i tolerate aomine on top is when heās on top of kagamiās dickš
This is OFFICIAL Kuroko no Basket art - and I have NEVER seen it before! I absolutely love it! :D Shame I couldn't find the source that where this is from. I don't remember seeing it in anime so maybe it's commercial or something?
