Billie almost rolled her eyes as Tristan got down on his knee, still assuming it was a joke. After a couple of moments she accepted that it wasn’t, her hand coming up to cover her mouth, “Are you serious?” She spoke into her hand as if she was considering it, finally forcing her hand towards Tristan to accept the ring, “This really isn’t a joke?” Billie asked breathlessly, unable to control the tone in her voice as she tried not to smile too hard, nodding her head continuously.

Even though he was almost positive of what the answer would be, there was no sure way of knowing until she responded. His heart was beating nervous of the outcome, but he kept his gaze to her. He sighed relieved as she extended her hand to accept the ring. Whilst he was carefully sliding the ring in its place, he looked up momentarily, "Does this look like I'm joking?" he laughed. He quickly stood up and cupped his girlfri- fiancee's face, and gave her a passionate kiss. Although it was words he didn't say often, every time he would say it, and every way he said it, he meant it. Breaking away from the kiss he whispered, "I love you."

Billie let out a sigh of relief, though Tristan’s obvious nerves made her feel uneasy. She eyed him suspiciously, smiling in confused amusement as she took the glass, bringing it to her lips as she assumed she was supposed to after watching Tristan hold his gaze for a few moments. Her train of thought was interrupted as she felt something hard against her tongue. Billie spat it into her hand before she could choke on it, “What? Are you trying to kill me?” she joked, looking down to inspect the object. Her eyes widened in surprise again before she remembered the last romantic gesture he made, “Oh, ha-ha. Very funny.” Billie laughed under her breath, holding out her hand to give the ring back to him.

Tristan kept watching her as she sipped through the beverage waiting anxiously for her to find the ring. He was surprised by her initial response, but due to Tristan's previous antics, its no wonder why she reacted the way she did. He figured he might as well do the full 'proper' engagement proposal. Grabbing the ring from her he placed it in his fingers, and knelt down on the ground. He coughed before beginning to speak, "I know you hate being called this but, Wilhelmina Samford, will you marry me?" he finally asked. "And you know I'm not joking otherwise I would've already said 'sike'." he added just to reassure her further that he was being serious.

Billie lingered outside the bathroom door, waiting for a signal that she was allowed to enter. Initially, she was more interested in getting ready to go out with Juliet, but that soon changed when she walked in and saw the effort that Tristan had gone to, “Oh my God, this is amazing,” she sounded in shock as she looked around the room, “I didn’t forget our anniversary, did I?” Billie asked with wide eyes, her fingers at the hem of her shirt, not sure if she was allowed to take it off.

Tristan couldn't hide the smile on his face, but he knew he had to play it cool. "No, no, I just wanted it to be something special." you could hear the nervousness in his voice as he tried to cough it out casually. He stopped her from removing her shirt and instead grabbed one of her hands and placed the glass of champagne in her grasp. Making sure he kept his gaze on her so she wouldn't be able to spot the ring straight away.

Even after two years of being with the same person, Tristan still didn't find it natural to be romantic. As he's always been. But after the torture of having to watch romantic movies, he thinks he's done a good effort. The bathroom was surrounded with candles she always bought, the nice smelling ones obviously. He even went to the shop where they sold soap for twenty dollars, which he thought was ridiculous, and bought bath bombs. Rose petals on the water, everything. Way better atmosphere of when he asked her to be his girlfriend. He waited for her to come in, making sure she wouldn't see the ring in one of the champagne glasses. "You can come in now," he called to her.
