Hey! You might have noticed by now, but Homestuck^2: Beyond Canon is now live. This is an official continuation of the Homestuck story, sanctioned by Andrew Hussie and brought to you by a diverse team of independent creatives.
Going forward, there will be two major changes to the Homestuck format you all know and love and/or hate. Firstly, the comic will run on a monthly schedule, with pages coming in large batches. The number of updates per month are determined by our level of reader support, which brings us to change number two:
Homestuck is now on Patreon! Pledging an amount per month is a great way to support the people behind this new phase in the comic’s continuity—you can also get yourself some great perks, too! Patrons pledging $5 or more per month will get access to a monthly ‘bonus’ update, shorter vignettes featuring some characters and side-plots less crucial for the main storyline, served up with characteristic Homestuck charm. $20 a month or more gets you access to concept art and author commentary; splash out at $100 a month and get a personal credit on the Homestuck^2 website!
Once we hit 2,000 patrons, the comic will begin to shift to a brisker update schedule, with two ‘main’ updates and two ‘bonus’ updates a month instead of one. So spread the word! Tell your friends, your family, your coworkers. Tell literally everyone you know.
Revenue from the official Homestuck Patreon will also be used to support creators working on other What Pumpkin projects (like Pesterquest and Hiveswap), both now and in the future. Being able to pay and be paid fairly for our work is of the utmost importance: passion is vital, and we’ve got a huge amount of it, but we also need to eat.
Finally, thank you to everyone who’s shared their enthusiasm with the comic so far, and especially to all those who’ve pledged to the Patreon already! We’re so happy to be bringing this story into existence, and your support means the world to us. Thanks!

alright, so I’m afraid to say I was mistaken. it sounds like the mobile version won’t be coming out for a while. soon, but not in time for this volume. very sorry for the wait!
Why's the base game so much more expensive this time...? Are the extra routes going to be included in the price unlike Friendsim, or is that just how it is?
yes! the game is using season pass pricing this time around, you make one payment and get every route

once every two weeks, like Friendsim. so right now the expected next releases are 9/18 and 10/2

unfortunately, there’s no way to coordinate cross-platform purchases since the game’s being distributed by separate storefronts. as of now you’ll have to purchase them separately
So there will be a pesterquest app released so those with android can download from the app store and play on their phones on the go? It would be nice bc I stay on campus as much as possible when I have classes
yes, there should be an Android app released alongside the Steam version
oh and for the record: while you won’t NEED to have read/played them to enjoy Pesterquest, it will contain occasional references to/spoilers for Friendsim and the Homestuck Epilogues, so please keep that in mind

no, volume one is just John and volume two is just Rose. although you MIGHT just be able to find a lil bonus friend in one of those volumes

hey mr trace you probably don’t fucking care but i wanted to ask opinions of people who worked on homestuck related projects! is there any characters that you could possibly see as ace/aro/aspec in homestuck/hiveswap? i’m just very interested in the subject as a aspec person and uh yeah okay sorry to bother you
oh yeah there definitely are. admittedly it’s not something I’ve spent a ton of time thinking about since I’m not aspec myself but there’s a lot of room for varied fan interpretations in the Homestuck ‘verse. people have made some good cases in the past for John and Jake, for example. I’m sure there’s others, too, especially since a lot of the extended cast (like the Troll Call trolls) don’t have as much history behind them and their relationships or lack thereof are still a blank slate
are they going to be roughly the same length?
I expect the average to be slightly longer than Friendsim routes, but it kinda depends on the writer. for example, the first route (written by Andrew) is about the same as Friendsim routes have been. the next couple are a bit longer than Friendsim routes were. my route... is kind of huge. I got carried away
