We create educational, commentary, and narrative content about asexuality. 💜 Our resources include educational/FAQ videos defining common a-spec terms, interviews with asexual people from all over the globe, and a podcast centered around the alloromantic-asexual experience. Surprise! 💜 We did it 🥹

I’ve been working on this film since 2023, and to see it come to life was a dream come true! I want to give the biggest shoutout to my Day-One’rs  Justina (our lovely producer) Noura (our wonderful AD) for their support from the very beginning, and for all the hours & love you’ve put into this project. 

To our crowdfunding contributors - thank you so much for your donations from our June 2023 run! We used every single cent (and more 😅) to cover production costs, and we couldn't have done it at all without your support. Thank you so much for your patience & belief in this project!

The biggest round of applause for our main cast - Jaiden, Devin & Schiffair: You guys brought these characters to life in a way I didn’t even know was possible, and I'm humbled by your passion and hard work! 🤩 

To our wonderful café date extras: Aja, Anika, Jordan, Ian, Alyssa, Tushylyno, Davon, Noah, Nico, Braeden - thank you so much for believing in this project, putting your special touch on each line, and bringing so much wonderful energy to the set. I am so honored by your participation in this project, especially from those of you who came from far away! 

And behind all the action - our fantastic crew - Logan, Erik, Luis, Emerson - the heart of every beautiful shot & crisp sound, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and problem-solving. I want to humble-brag that we made it through the huge power outage here in Los Angeles where about  100,000 people lost electricity for a little over a half hour. And yet, our efficient crew, working with an already extremely tight schedule, made it happen!!

A very huge thank you to @splcoffee & their accomodating employees for letting us use their special space! For those of you in LA, do yourself a favor and grab some of the most delicious coffee from Spl! ☕️✨

We’re so honored to be an award nominee for the June-July 2026 Indie Shorts Film Festival! Additionally, we were a semi-finalist in Follow Your Heart New York, and are set to screen at Outsouth Queer Film Festival in North Carolina! We have a few other selections but can’t officially announce them until the film festivals do first. Thank you to all the festival directors and judges for watching and including our film! Happy Pride 2026! 🏳️‍🌈 🖤🩶🤍💛🩷💜 For those of you who are new here, I wanted to take a chance to reflect back on what a journey this has been with our project! It started with an idea at the end of 2022, stemming from my personal experience with ignorance and minimal visibility surrounding asexuality- specifically alloromantic asexuality. We had to do something to try and change that. By 2023, we had a solid draft of the short. We needed funding, and so I saved up thousands of dollars to create a preliminary educational + interview series that would hopefully draw enough attention to our $15k crowdfunding goal. Over the span of two weekends, @justinadayprod and I hosted 30+ Zoom interviews with ace people from all over the world. Then, a dozen Los Angeles-local aces joined me and @noura.mov for in-studio interviews. Both these and the Zoom calls resulted in 23 interview videos spanning the topics of coming out, representation, dating, self-love, and intersectionality. Thank you to everyone who participated and shared their stories with us. Additionally, the studio participants appeared in 17 “Frequently Asked Questions” short-form videos we released on common questions, definitions surrounding sexuality & attraction, and violence awareness. In Pride month of 2023, we launched our crowdfunding campaign and were releasing an interview/FAQ video per day, but only met 17% of our goal. We are so grateful for each and every contribution! In 2024, we made some hard decisions to rework the script and make it possible to create within a tighter budget + timeline. Even after these cuts, we still didn’t have enough to make it work. I spent 2024 saving up more. In 2025, we just had to take the dive - ready or not. It felt better to create something now than wait endlessly for the right moment and do nothing in the meantime. We assembled a fantastic cast & crew, made up of incredibly talented and passionate people. When we finally shot it on November 8th, I felt that familiar joy of creating something that was in my heart for so long. Each cast member effortlessly nailed their part, and the crew was unfathomably efficient! THANK YOU ALL! 💜

Thank you all so much for your support & patience during this long journey! Everyone who has been a part of this project, -- whether it was the initial educational series, the short, or just believing in us all these years -- means so much to me. It feels so surreal that what started as an idea at the end of 2022 and a social media/crowdfunding campaign in 2023, is finally a real thing in 2026, thanks to our amazing film team! We're ready to open hearts & minds! If you contributed to our film, you'll have received a viewing link via the email associated with your contribution!

We will be entering the film in festivals, and then post it to the Tracey YouTube channel afterwards - I’ll be sure to share the link here for you all! Racism, anti-blackness, misogyny and hate of any kind are NOT welcome in the asexual community.

I'm disgusted by a lot of the blatantly racist responses AceinGrace has been receiving for their more inclusive version of the asexual flag.

A lot of people, who I'm willing to bet have done 0 to move the community forward (and instead move it backwards with vitriol) chime in about a project Ashabi has been carefully working on for years. I hope that the support for the new flag will outshine the hate.

I love the updated colors and I think the color meanings are beautiful. No one is telling you that you have to love it, that you have to use it, or that you have to stop using the first ace flag. So I don't know where people are getting that from, or why they are being so hateful.

But when a black creator launches a project that makes the flag representing our community more inclusive, and your immediate response is negativity? Really, really think about that.

oh man, my first relationship was a trainwreck. we were in high school. we had severe untreated mental illnesses. it had to end, but i'll never stop loving him.

just yesterday my friend, who is 27, drunkenly told me about how she still thinks abt the guy she was in love with when she was 17. i think you do just kind of remember that intensity of emotion forever.

No for real!! Like those things that have to end but there's always that tenderness and understanding. And memories!! I'll always be grateful for that first experience.

And exactly!! We love our first loves!! In any form - that friend from childhood, that first relationship, that first band obsession, ugh <3
