Trackers - Series 1 - Press Release
"Thus far, Jack Cooper could say, without doubt, that his life had been pretty average. He had an average job, an average flat, an average education and an above average girlfriend - who was stuck in an equally average life with him.
He'd had dreams and aspirations above that of average, sure - but life, he discovered, was a swift and fickle creature. One moment he'd been in college, preparing to ace his exams and become - well, a something, a something good - and the next he'd been setting up the bed for his flat, the paperwork for his new job on the floor nearby.
And he still wasn't sure what had happened in between. "
And so begins Trackers, the new series of eBook episodes bringing modern televised storytelling to literature with force. Episodic storytelling, blockbuster premieres and finales and dynamic pacing gives the stories their edge - as well as the central premise:
"In some circles, there are rumors. Rumors and stories of a man you can hire. Hire to do basically anything you want. Solve a crime, find out information, make a business deal, change a vote - anything.
Because supposedly, and this is whispered through cupped hands in dark corners of powerful rooms, this man is a thought tracker - a man who can project themselves into other people's trains of thought and play with them. But they're not talking about mind control, or subliminal messaging - this man plays with what you see around you - what you believe to be happening around you. That keyboard in front of you? Not real. The words on this screen? Scrambled together from bits of your memory floating about. The people around you? Projections. A waking dream, orchestrated by the mysterious man in the black suit."
Starting 31.1.14 Trackers will release its first 6 episodes, once a month, at the end of every month. From young authors Flinn McManus, John Dawson and Anne Mulleners and co-created by Kane Aspey, we bring you a world where every waking moment could be orchestrated, every sense someone else's puppet and everyone you meet a suspect.
In a world where everything is possible and nothing can be guaranteed, how do you possibly know what's real?
