Track Meet’s second official release, NIHIL 2: Hubris EP by Angolan producer Nazar, pushes the boundaries of kuduro and expands the sound into industrial and electronic noise territories.

NIHIL 2: Hubris EP is Angolan artist Nazar’s tongue-in-cheek ode to the reigning kleptocracy—a tribute to the government that cracks down murderously on dissent, adorning its public spaces with pro-government propaganda.

It is a voice of protest from a diplomat’s son born abroad, whose romanticized perspective of a New Angola was shattered when he returned to live in his native land and witnessed first-hand the corruption, nepotism and manipulation that pervades the country's leadership.

It is a documentary take on the consciousness of the Angolan people, a critique of the government that is beyond reproach for its massacre of civilians on Mount Sumi on April 16, 2015.

NIHIL 2 is a referendum on the hubris of a ruling class that continues to illegitimately perpetuate its power in a legacy that stretches back 40 years.
