In honor of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation coming up in October! #Lutheran #Reformation2017
Hands down... best oil-based pomade I've ever used. #gettinpiggywithit #oinkoink #reuzelgreen
Really nice! Luther's commentary on Romans. Good stuff from RJ Grunewald! @rjgrune
Jehovah's Witnesses
Had two Jehovah's Witnesses knock on my door today. They asked me if we could talk about God, and I said "sure, what do you want to know?" They just stared at me, not amused by my little joke and moved on with their preaching. I listened for a couple minutes then I asked them two questions "Is Jesus the Son of God or, in other words, equal to God?" And they said no. Then I asked "If Jesus was equal to God, how would that be explained?" This time I got blank stares... I then read them John 1:1-18, John 8:58, and Philippians 2:5-8. To which they compared their translation in their bibles, which is completely different from any other version of the Bible you will ever read, and told me I was wrong. I said, "Ok, good talk. Have a good day," and closed the door. I heard one of them yell at the other, "What was that?! No one has ever said that to us before!" Then they left. The point of me doing that was not to convert them, but maybe they will question some of the stuff they have been taught.
The Daily Office
I love the Daily Office found in the Treasury of Daily Prayer. I recently went from using Matins, Responsive Prayer 1, the Litany, Responsive Prayer 2, Vespers, Compline to the shorter daily prayer offices. Morning, Responsive Prayer 1, Noon, Responsive Prayer 2, Early Evening, Close of the Day. It's a good change up. Any Lutherans out there use the Daily Office or am I a strange freak of a person?
Finally got a good order for my Lutheran prayer knots. This may look like a train wreck to you but it makes sense to me.
I know it's still January but I'm getting that ole baseball feeling again. But I'm actually enjoying hockey this year because my Columbus Blue Jackets are doing great!
Reflection of the Small Catechism using my set of prayer knots and reading through Exodus.
New Chess set. Ok who wants to play me?
