Martyn tends to pass out in high stress situations, especially if they catch him off guard

In 3rd Life, when Scar died to the creeper, Martyn didn't quite process the events at first, and then passed out when it hit that it was kinda his fault, wasn't it

no one remembers previous games. it’s almost if their memories had been wiped.

so whenever scott and jimmy walk across the plains, and they both feel sting, they’re confused.

for jimmy it’s the center of his forehead, and for scott it’s the place right of his heart

they brush it off, blaming it on something random. but the sensation keeps occurring.

each time one of them passes by flowers, they feel the same pain in the exact spot. the more they feel it, the the more familiar it feels. almost like a fragment of their past calling to them.

and what’s even weirder is that the sensation is worse each time they stumble across a poppy

(in short, flower husbands don’t remember third life, but whenever they come across flowers, specifically poppies, they feel pain the wound that caused their third death)

You know how SL Scar has a flower motif? And thorns armor?

He has thorns growing out of his skin. It'a painful. They scare people away, but that just means he's untouchable, right? He never asked for this but they make him quite the winner. That's a common theme for him, huh

The longer he goes on through the game, the more thorns sprout under his skin. They rip through soft flesh and organs, and he can feel himself falling apart... but he never dies. He doesn't think he can, anymore.

bc both scar and pearl were lonely victors, as soon as secret life is over pearl forcefully has a self care day with scar and they make cookies and cut eachothers hair whilst gossiping. pearl is especially excited bc now she has someone to go to about the life games (grian won’t talk about them or take them seriously) so the self care day bleeds into the next couple weeks (they got distracted), cuing their fellow hermits to check in on them. they find them building an elaborate pillow fort complete with scotts picture impaled on a target. the hermits are understandably baffled, but grian just shakes his head and plots with gem to sic the snails on the two

It’s sort of a crossover with Hermitcraft, but I think that the purple lines on Impulse’s Cyberpunk skin are actually his fragments he accumulated throughout the various seasons of The Life Series (See Martyn’s Eyes and Ears AU for context) and we can only now see them because Impulse was the first person to die in Demise, a Life Series like game

He's always a bit scared of letting his allies preen them, scared they'll burn their hands, so they come to a compromise, instead hovering their hands over his wings to get used to it until finally, Jimmy feels that he's safe enough for their delicate skin to touch. (Plus, it helps when it's cold and dark!)

omg so i just saw someone post about an aethorborne Scott and what i fw that: Scott wasn't exactly meant to be in the games, wasn't meant to be trapped in this loop of death, he was once a star, among the clouds, happy in his life, once having giant golden angel wings.

And he's not sure how he was taken from his home, having his wings ripped off his back, yet the ones forming from his ears and ankles were allowed to stay.

All he really wants is to go home, and make he's a bit destructive, made he hurts the people around him, and maybe he self sabotages. But he just is really homesick.

Some of those pieces of stardust still stick with him, floating around his head- a bitter reminder of what he's lost. He tries his best to ignore them.

this may be more of a theory than a headcanon but i'm losing my mind and i need to tell someone.

we know from martyn's lore q&a that the two main ways the listeners are interfering with the death games are 1) the soulswaps/"amnesia cold" and 2) breaking the canary curse.

the three players on the server who have had their souls swapped in are lizzie, gem, and ren.

the canary curse was broken in secret life when lizzie died due to her own reckless decisions, and in real life (smp) when ren killed grian.

coincidence? i think not.

Cleo has really curly hair, very condensed, and very long.

It's about an average length (for straight hair) normally, so on the very rare occasions they straighten their hair, it's practically down to her feet. (this may be an exaggeration, she doesn't do that enough for people to really know)

Y’know the weird way animal’s eyes reflect light at night? Grian does that.

When feeling threatened, Grian and Jimmy will puff up their wings to make themselves look bigger, therefore more intimidating. The only reason this works is because the other players are laughing too hard, giving them a chance to escape. However, when Pearl does this it's a whole 'nother story. When she does it, it strikes fear into the hearts of those who face her, as they know she means business.

These wings do get quite messy at times, so each member has someone to help them, someone who they trust. Pearl has Gem, Grian has Scar and Jimmy has Scott.

i may sound crazy for this but. skizz-lizzie siblings. no, jimmy and lizzie aren't siblings (not by blood at least), jimmy is pearl and grian's brother. but... ANYWAYS. I don't know where this idea came from but imo they're a very underrated duo so... ya :3

Ender/Fae genetics, Skizz got more of the first half of that and Lizz(ie) got more of the second. (And then Skizz died and came back able to shapeshift just like his sister could already do, but that's besides the point)

and of course if we play into one of my very favorite headcanons. imagine. the both of them growing up in the Seelie court (their land was much kinder to mortals, given that their ruler had fallen in love with one). skizz never quite fitting with the magical aspects, never understanding the thrill everyone else seemed to get from the Hunt. never quite perfecting the laws they have to abide by. meanwhile lizzie shaping up to be the perfect next ruler of the court, and yet still finding time for her little brother. helping him realize things about himself (*winks in transmasc*) even though she doesn't quite understand it (after all, the faeries are magical creatures, borne of it, exactly how they want to be in every way).

then one day skizz makes a friend on the edge of the forest's border! a mortal, half-demon and half-rock giant, who tries to kill him at first sight (before realizing that wait, nope, that's one of the fae, BAD IDEA). They get over it and become Besties. and skizz gives up some of that immortality, that magic, in order to well and truly live. mortality sounds fun! Lizzie, of course, sends him off with a smile and a reminder of her love in the form of some (non-magic-imbued) pastries. Skizz comes back two weeks later with some new friends in tow, stays a few days, leaves, comes back again. It continues.

And then one day, he brings another friend with him: a human, some kind of mage, with a streak of green in his hair. and gods, if lizzie isn't (internally) struck dumb at the sight of him!

At least she's subtle, though. The cute human is so obvious, turning into a blushing mess whenever he tries to talk to her, and honestly it's a little embarrassing at this point!

...doesn't change the fact that, a few years later, skizz comes back to the court for a very special occasion. Seems this lineage has a bad habit of falling for mortals, one way or another!

I see the "only the winners remember the previous games" and I raise you my own personal theory

The longer the players are in the same, the more they remember.

So yes, the winners do remember the most, but others can remember.

Scar and Grian have the most vivid memory of third life, which later influences how they both act in double life.

Pearl and Scott both remember the most as they died at the same time.

Jimmy does not remember the games. Or not in any of his memories. Sure, he had a headache for a few days after (where he would have gotten shot), felt closer to Scott, and he grew fonder of poppies. He's heard about what happened from others. But he doesn't have any memories. Because he died first every. single. time.

Until secret life.

And finally.

He has some memories of it.

Again, they're not great. He died second. But he can remember something.

He's escatic. This is his chance not to feel like an outsider when they talk about the games.

(and if Lizzie was clumsy and allowed herself to fall because Jimmy had confided in her that he felt inferior because he couldn't remember? ...nobody needs to know.)
