got any song recs that remind you of boreo?

don’t ask me why but billy joel’s entire discography reminds me of tgf. probably because of “new york state of mind” but i digress.

“just the way you are” is very boreo-coded to me, specifically from boris’s pov. he’s radically accepting of theo. he sees him at his most strung-out, self-destructive, secretive, and frightened, and doesn’t ask for him to be anything else. and when they reunite all those years later and boris finds that theo is still the alcoholic, pill-snorting asshole he knew in his youth, he’s happy about it. he does not want him to change.

(or get better, because then boris would feel pressure to get better, too. and that would require work on his part.)

i also think it’s incredibly boris to swear up and down that he’d NEVER hurt theo or abandon him because theo is the blood of his heart, etc. etc., and then have theo hit him with a detailed list of every occasion on which he has, in fact, done exactly that.
