I have never felt this way about a celebrity’s death before in my life. sure, they came as shocks, but this….This was overwhelming.

Linkin Park helped me through so much in my life. My grandmother’s death back around 2010  put strain on my home, and my mom especially. She would listen to linkin park with me and my brother Travis, to relate and to cope with the anger and sadness she felt. Linkin Park was my first band I really loved.

And Chester…Man, i had the biggest crush on him when I was younger…I would joke he should’ve kept his blonde hair. I would make jokes about how he’s probably straining his voice. But I never stopped loving him.  I hoped I could meet him someday. Even if that opportunity has passed, I don’t mind. I’ll keep loving him even now and listen to his work. His voice was incredible.

When I heard the news, it felt like my entire world fell apart. My heart still feels like its buried in my stomach acids right now or something like that. It’s awful. But it doesn’t mean we have to forget him. I block out most bad things, but this. This was a wakeup call to reality, and….I couldn’t go another day without doing something. This picture isn’t that great, - I could do better. But it’s hard to look at pictures of him right now, and I just had to get something out. I wanted to draw him looking more peaceful, because I hope he is now.

Thank you for reading everyone, and Chester. Thank you for being such a great singer. No, thank you for being an incredible, influential person. I hope wherever you are now, you’re free to scream at the top of your lungs and show the passion you showed everyone while you were alive. Thank you.
