Yeah, red crosses are the symbol of the Red Cross, and itâs illegal to use it in any context outside of official Red Cross business, as specified in the Geneva Convention. How er, in video games, the Red Cross became associated with medical care and health refills, thanks to military shooters- actually replicating the Red Cross symbol, but it became a universally recognized symbol for healing in video games. Initially, they ignored it (likely because video games were such a small industry/obscure enough to pass the notice of people who regulate such things), but as video games became a huge industry and mainstream, they took notice, and started sending C&Ds and threatening legal action. This is, of course, somewhat silly, as thereâs no real way for people to confuse video games for official Red Cross operations, but the letter of the law requires its use be defended, and most video game companies have chosen to comply rather than try to fight it out in international court. Amusingly m, most video game companies have chosen to simply recolor the symbol to a *green* cross, since the color green has become associated with healing in video games.

The Justice Department accused Google of illegally protecting its monopoly over search and search advertising in a lawsuit filed on Tuesday, the governmentâs most significant legal challenge to a tech companyâs market power in a generation.
In a 57-page complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia, the agency accused Google of locking out competition in search by obtaining several exclusive business contracts and agreements. Googleâs deals with Apple, mobile carriers and other handset makers to place its search engine as the default option for consumers accounted for most of its dominant market share in search, the agency said, a figure that it put at around 80 percent.
âFor many years,â the suit said, âGoogle has used anticompetitive tactics to maintain and extend its monopolies in the markets for general search services, search advertising and general search text advertising â the cornerstones of its empire.â
The lawsuit signals a new era for the technology sector. It reflects pent-up and bipartisan frustration toward a handful of companies â Google, Amazon, Apple and Facebook in particular â that have morphed from small and scrappy companies into global powerhouses with outsize influence over commerce, speech, media and advertising. Conservatives like President Trump and liberals like Senator Elizabeth Warren have called for more restraints over Big Tech.
The suit will also be a major test of antitrust law. Many Democrats argue that the laws need to be adjusted to account for the digital era, when many products are free and it can be more difficult to prove the harm to consumers from a companyâs firm grip on a market.
Attorney General William P. Barr, who was appointed by Mr. Trump, has played an unusually active role in the investigation. He pushed career Justice Department attorneys to bring the case by the end of September, prompting pushback from lawyers who wanted more time and complained of political influence. August 22 2020 - Proud Boys, Qanon cultists, blue lives bootlickers and other assorted far-right scum traveled from all over the US to Portland for a âNo Marxism in the USâ march, managing to bus and fly in a couple hundred right-wingers. Local antifascists, actually being from the city, quickly managed to call in a large amount of people to oppose the fascists in response.
The fascists sprayed huge amounts of mace and pepper spray and beat people, Proud Boy Alan Swinney pulled his gun and aimed it at people with his finger on the trigger, and Tiny Toese even maced a person in a wheelchair. All the while Portland police stood by and let the violent right-wing mob attack people as much as they wanted, while antiracist protests are attacked by riot police when someone throws an empty water bottle or someone walks in the street.
The coalition of antiracists, hardened by three months of battle with Portland police, held their line, protected each other and after about an hour of skirmishes started driving the far-right attackers back. The nerve of the bootlickers quickly broke and they started scattering in different directions, being chased by large crowds of antifascists, until all the fascists finally fled and left Portland again.
Of course, after the right-wing mob had fled and people were just staying in the area having a good time, making sure no more fascist were planning on attacking, the police finally decided to declare an unlawful assembly, and began attacking and arresting the antifascists still hanging around.
