Leilani, maybe you should have just paid for your Greek getaway for your 30th?
I bet it seemed like a great idea at the time.
Youāre a very talented brand agent, and you have this client who you like as a person AND who is a heat score. Heās particular about what he openly endorses, but he has worn clothes gifted him by brands he likes (at this point, I want to burn that Panic at Needle Park Freddie Frances shirt, I am so glad it has holes in it).
So maybe you meet with brands and say youāll have him wear stuff and his team will post pics in an āorganicā way. The fandom follows them for glimpses of your client anyway. They can post hints of your client wearing shorts from a Canadian clothes brand, and these team members can get flights for their spouses or PR for their businesses. Win-win.
And youāre having a milestone birthday! Right around the time your client gets a front row seat AND a +1 for his mom at a Haute Couture show for the fashion house whose director adores him. Who cares that Paris is unbearably hot then? Maybe some of YOUR friends can tag along too?
And since youāre already in Europe, why not work your brand magic more? Leverage the clientās popularity to go a Greek island where he can make $ appearing at a club, and you can feature MORE branded clothing, and probably get hotels and food comped bc of the publicity. Happy free birthday trip to you!
And this client needs to lean into showing off his (public facing) āLT gfā because the results to this point have beenā¦lacklustre despite their ambiguous shared past.
Especially when compared to the insane interpersonal and sexual chemistry he has with his bestie/soulmate/emotional support person in life male costar in the wildly popular TV show that vaulted them both onto the A-list in the first place. The one with the ravenous, detailed oriented fan base who have clocked their shit. Especially the night you were on babysitting duty that ended up with all of YOU drunkenly stumbling out of a shared car outside costarās hotel in front of paps and fans. And the media accounts that then came out detailing client-costar behaviour so questionable your agency had to suppress it for fear of scandal.
And there is so much heat in their interactions they had to stop doing joint photoshoots and interviews. Then stop being photographed together. Stop being seen together in public. Stop being seen in the same city. The same country. The same continentā¦
So: perfect time to combine a free trip with a PR push to help your client and his (public facing) āLT gfā. Who doesnāt love the classic ākissing in a beachā pap shot? š It does not matter than days ago your client got stalked in Paris by paps and the scandal and threat to safety was so bad you had to hire a bodyguard. And that the duo in question seem unhappy and tense and donāt seem to show much affection or willingness toā¦touch?
Itās different in Mykonos! So the team can broadcast your star clientās location in real time. And these paps come in by boat with long lenses, so your client cannot be caught in video threatening to burn stuff with them, thank goodness.
Except the pap shots are comically bad, especially since there are similar photos of your client and his costar posing in similar photos which look like foreplay. Whoops!
And even the friendly journalists who will place articles about this idyllic holiday have to scramble bc there is no kiss pic. Theyāre writing stuff about how they āpressed their bodies togetherā š¤¢ instead. Which they barely do in hundreds of pics. Meanwhile this is how you client and his costar hang out in front of colleagues during breaks on set:
And the online discourse turns toward discussions about the clientās sexuality, the very thing you are trying to avoid.
Could have avoided it all, you know. Just had a private trip for which you paid.
I wonder what the long term cost to your clientās bottom line will be? And yours.
