Mine
I feel the pain of wanting fill my heart - An ache that builds, a pounding - ‘sif to burst; I hear you sob, and tears begin to start - They well, they flow, and drown my soul - immersed. Who said that things get easier o'r time? When suddenly it feels … No longer mine.
I breathe in deep, perhaps I may disguise The fact that what I hear is painful too, How hard it is - blurred vision through your eyes, And voice that dies, in silent love from you. I sense the tears, they fall - my head held high But then I realize … These tears are mine.
If only I could hold you - just a touch, To feel the softness, smoothness of your skin - And maybe then, I wouldn’t feel so much The hurt I find amidst this fool’s chagrin. These many thoughts that taunt my conscience - cruel; Are those I have to fight … These thoughts of mine.
To press my lips to yours, to cup your face, Then slowly run my fingers through your hair, And slowly to your waist - a hug - embrace; Emotions uncontrolled - believe - I care. Your love has n'er been blind - for granted? No - Forever and for always … You are mine.
