Oh where do I start. It's been a common headcanon for half a decade because she was a twin born in the same egg, and has a brother. This has inspired a lot to say that shes a trans woman. However, I believe it can go much deeper. Her entire arc is about being demonised for something she cannot change about herself, and someone with power over her uses how she is perceived to manipulate her into being what people think she is. As she meets someone that sees her for who she is, she realises she isn't evil. The top quote on her wiki page reads "I thought I was born a killer, but it turns out I wasn't. Queen Scarlet made me that way... or I let myself become that way. It's like I chose it without knowing I chose it. But you were born that way. You knew what you were like, and you chose to be something else. I guess I feel like I can't be one of you unless I can do that, too." Additionally, in her personality bio, it reads Due to Scarlet's lies and manipulation, she had concluded that being a monster was her true nature, and had accepted her one "true self". Despite this belief of hers, she often tries to make herself as small as possible, and is quiet upon meeting other unfamiliar dragons; she seemed surprised when Clay offered to talk to her. A sentence that sticks out to me is ''Peril often second-guesses if she has the right to be anywhere,'' It is also important to note that the writer of the series, Tui T Sutherland, is extremely supportive of the lgbt community, with many queer characters, and she has directly stated she would like to write a transgender character when she has the proper knowledge to do so.

there’s a je ne sais quoi. fear of himself. fear of secretly being something Other than what he believes himself to be. belief that she is inherently evil and monstrous and her only value to others is her ability to kill or die. deeply envious of characters who live as themselves without being afraid. at one point her brother is like “yeah i’ve decided to start exploring and accepting who i am instead of fearing myself” and Immediately she goes NO. That’s Illegal People Can’t Do That It’s Not Possible. estrogen will save her but she won’t realize this until age 30 at least. (* canon pronouns he/him but you must understand. hashtag girl. this isn’t even getting into the Holy Shit Girl You Didn’t Have To Do Any Of That behaviors) 

Yukio is soooo fucked up in a very specific, very transgender way you need to listen to me. Put her in the super repressed olympics and she WILL win easy no sweat no diff. She has not properly processed a single emotion since she was seven years old. I think the repression and self-hatred Yukio feels, specifically regarding to her "human" identity being incongruous with her "demonic" nature, the genuine discontentment she feels towards her own body failing to be how she wants it (strong, infallible, traditionally masculine), can read as very transgender idk. Yukio is a character obsessed with appearances, and is thus unable to really know herself; she's too hellbent on meeting standards that ultimately serve to make her miserable. Therefore, her arc is, at its core, about learning to love herself in all her entirety. Which is queer as fuck. (Also this isn't as serious of a reason why I headcanon her as transfem but she's also probably the most hated character in the whole fandom and like what could be more female character-coded than that lmao /hj.)  =====

It’s LITERALLY established in the series’s lore that “female Lombaxes [the race she is] don’t have tails.” We see another Lombax in one of the early games who proves this. :) Sure is interesting that Rivet’s got a tail, huh? Anyway she’s also an alternate reality version of the main character with her own matching robot pal. I’ve been a fan of this franchise since I was a kid, and it makes me SO GIDDY to imagine a character like myself getting to play a role in this setting

The main ones I've been thinking of is, of course, another transfem bracket (though with only new characters / ones who lost early in this tournament). Also maybe a transmasc headcanon one. I'd also potentially love doing a bracket for the best boss music tracks.

transfem creators self insert. i would hesitate to even call this one a headcanon with statements from gooseworx but its not explicitly confirmed in ep 1-8. like jax' reaction of extreme embarrassment and anger at being put in a maid outfit was because "wasn't ready to ask those questions about himself", and zooble(who put her in said outfit), did so not out of cruelty, but for their own purposes. zooble also compliments how it looks and jax just kinda storms off. okay so the visual in episode 8 now. the top half of jax' skin being ripped off by the shadows of the only people shes trusted in the circus. she covers her chest and crotch, awkwardly trying to pull her skin back up and uncharacteristically shrinking in on herself, legs crossed and looking down. i dont think i really need to say more about that. i call her digital because her circus is amazing. i had to stop calling her digital on account of her goose no longer worx. i do think its also good points towards her being transfem that there are very vocal fans who say she could be transmasc or a feminine man, and that they made skin-ripped-off jax merch. i have seen THREE(3) people say that even if transfem jax is explicitly confirmed and she transitions in the show, transmasc jax headcanons will still be valid and important. why, call me a tranny and shoot me in the head with a gun because im going to summon my secret soul self with massive melons to maul you with magic mallets.

There's a scene where Jax is put into a maid outfit. He starts to freak out and when one of the other characters say they thought he'd be "into that" he gets very defensive saying, "what's that mean? what's that supposed to mean!?" and proceeds to freakout more. I headcanon Jax as a deeply closested trans woman  =====

ralsei is destined by prophecy to be the lonely prince, and she wants again to believe that the prophecy to change, given hope by her new cool friends kris and susie who are also very transfem. she starts the story as a complete doormat, hiding her face under two layers, and a lot of her development thus far has been developing her own identity beyond the lonely prince and the third hero. she wears a formless robe at all times. of the main three, she is best benefited by and most associated with the PrincessRBN, which is made by combining blue pink and white ribbons. that very white ribbon is the first armor in the game, which she is very bashful about if you give it to her. she has no possessions until her friends start giving her things because she doesn't believe she deserves anything. she can certainly survive in an empty room alone, after all- she has for ever so long before the heroes arrived -so why would she ever need anything more? she doesn't subject any other darkner to nearly the same level of depersonalization at all by the way. the closest she comes is the end of chapter 3 when she is very clearly projecting.

She also started out as an emotionless and identity-less puppet. In canon she's a girl because she was specifically created from the main protagonist's memories of his female love interest but I'm a fan of the interpretation that Xion chose to fully be a girl herself after getting a chance to develop as a person and choose who she wants to become.

Oltyx is a Necron, an Immortal robot who was once flesh and blood but who was forced to undergo transference to a robotic form against his will. He spends two whole novels wrestling with the "dysphorakh", a dysphoria specific to the Necrons that fixates on the incorrectness of their new forms. "I cannot breathe. Where are my lungs? I claw at my throat, and my fingers do not catch hot skin but instead screech on metal. I cannot open my mouth. Please, damned gods, let me at least scream" -type beat. You know how it is. Without spoilers, he finds peace and community near the end of the second book only once he accepts what he is and acts upon it. Can't help but feel like estrogen could have at least helped. For those who know the books already, you know those tasty little red morsels he indulges in could absolutely mean something else...  =====
