Ronance Band au !!
Nancy is a rockstar and Robin is the drummer :]]
I feel like Nancy def would be the face of the band and Robin Is like. Head over heels for her
i could not rest until i also drew this post
(obligatory @archaicfauna ping since this is your au hehe)
AU where barb lives simply so that she hears about the photos Jonathan took, and she and Nancy are fighting, haven’t spoken to each other since Nancy walked downstairs in Steve’s hoodie, looking small and sorry but not willing to actually talk it out with Barb, and they drove home in silence.
But then Steve confronts Jonathan and breaks his camera, and all day Nancy has felt like people are staring at her, and now Steve and his friends are showboating and Jonathan, the seemingly nice guy who’s been around at her house to pick up Will so often, is apparently a total creep, and when Barb hears about it all she shows up at the Wheeler house, and when Nancy answers the door the first thing she says is “I’m still mad at you.” And then she hugs Nancy and lets her cry and they sit up in her room and talk it out. And eventually the plot catches up with them but when it does Nancy doesn’t have to face it totally alone and objectified by the people around her the end
okay @lavandulalunaris mentioned robin being in danger because of this and i haven't stopped thinking about it so!
the demogorgon doesn't go to steve's house that night, it's still prowling around closer to the byers' place. and robin buckley, biking home alone after band practice, is the one it takes next.
the next day, nancy's dealing with everyone's stares and barb is dealing with nancy refusing to look at her. she goes through most of the day alone, and she wonders who she's even going to sit by at lunch. she thinks maybe she could find robin and her friends, and she thinks about how robin would have a few choice words to say about steve harrington, and that would cheer her up. but then, robin would also probably have some things to say about nancy, which would maybe make her feel worse
in the end, though, she sits alone, because no matter how hard she looks, robin isn't in the cafeteria
in one of her classes that afternoon, she asks one of robin's band friends where she is, and they say she's probably just sick or something
it doesn't sit right with barb.
that afternoon is the confrontation with steve and jonathan. that afternoon, nancy goes home alone and cries herself to sleep, and barb sits at her house, struggling to focus on homework, resisting the urge to call nancy. she calls robin's house instead, just on impulse, and nobody answers
cue barb being anxious about robin, and that's part of the reason she goes to make up with nancy. cue nancy not knowing anything about this random girl, but wanting to make things up to barb, so they go looking for her together
an au where barb's the voice of reason to nancy's tunnel vision, where she's the gentler kindness to nancy's fiery compassion. an au where, once robin's part of the gang, she balances both of them out, the creativity to nancy's analytical thinking, the improv to barb's playing by the rules.
an au where barb watches nancy and robin fall for each other, and she teases robin for being so wrong about nancy, but really, she's just happy they can both finally accept themselves
Robin gets cuteness aggression whenever she sees Nancy in any sort of soft, domestic way. No makeup, hair a mess, wearing Robin’s old gym shirt, baggy boxers, and mismatched socks. Nancy is usually the type of person that showers and gets dressed the moment her eyes open in the morning, even if they’re just lounging around, so it’s a special treat whenever Robin gets to see her like that.
Robin’s first instinct is to bite her but Nancy gets really cranky early in the morning, so it’s best not to piss her off. So she follows her second instinct, which is to hold her so tight she almost smothers her and lay just about a hundred kisses all over her face. It’s like a reset to Nancy’s nervous system and she melts into it, especially when Robin croons cute little pet names like ‘sweet girl’ and ‘my nancy’
after robin and nancy go on their first date steve gets a call from robin saying she made an absolutely fool of herself and nancy is never gonna want to go out with her again. then steve gets a call from nancy saying she is going to marry robin someday
I just know Robin never lets Nancy forget that she used to date Steve. Nancy will be complaining about something Steve does or something he said and Robin just off-handedly remarks “And you still dated him.” and Nancy just stops in the middle of her sentence like
