The more ‘sophisticated’ and pretentious a person’s comprehending of their own music taste is, the more obscure and unlistenable their faves get. Yet conversely and seemingly paradoxically, the critically-worse and less serious it is, the more obscure and unlistenable it gets. You can start at vaguely radio-safe uncontroversial “good” music, but going too far down either extreme you’ll find two people both giving themselves headaches with experimental harsh noise and the only difference is one of them is insisting it’s high art and you just don’t get it

Ha thank you! Ironically it is honestly not as bad here as it was during the summers in the last place I lived, shoutout to dry heat and it's incomprehensibly humid in the midwest during the summer. If it helps any, you probably already have. It's not actually rare enough for it to be expected you'd never know a system, we just aren't always loud about it in public.

is it possible to be in a system without realizing? I periodically wonder if I'm in a system and am just unaware of it somehow.

I mean that's kind of how it is before one finds out. You can't know something if you haven't learned it yet. It's not like I was born knowing I was a system, actually only just found out last year. I'd wonder but more often I'd assume I would be able to tell because it would be obvious therefore it was impossible. Egg on my face but that's also how it felt before I realized I was trans so that could just be me. Anyway point is, from your ask I can tell that you either are or are not plural 👍 good luck

ive noticed a lot of systems use we/we’re when referring to themselves. this made me think of a few things:

how do plurals work? sorry im new to the subject and am wondering if you are multiple people at once, or all of them together in one body? sorry if my question doesnt make sense, im not sure im wording it well

when referring to systems in languages like french, would it be correct to use the plural form of you (vous) or the singular (tu) when speaking to them?

Plurality is more than one individual consciousness in the same body. A system (if they call themselves that, some don't, it's a preference) is someone who's plural. The most commonly known form of plurality is DID or other dissociative disorders that cause separate states of self, which is what I have and am usually posting about, but not the case for everyone, there's a lot of different ways for people to experience this. I use we/us sometimes when it just feels appropriate to do so I guess, I usually see my system as multiple and my headmates as separate people from me (me being whichever I am at the time), but sometimes it also just feels more normal to say I/me. Hopefully this gives context to a lot of the comics you see on here lmao; all the characters in my drawings are basically different versions of the same person (me).

I don't know I'm sorry, I don't speak French. I assume it would depend on the system and how they prefer it, just like in English. Some systems use I/me and some use we/us and some (like me) use both interchangeably depending on the Vibe
