A plea for help

Hi to anyone this ever reaches out to. 

I’m in a bit of a desperate pickle right now. 

I not too long ago moved from one side of the UK to another due to escaping domestic abuse which has unfortunately been the norm for me my entire life up until recent when I was able to get away and change this. 

It took me nearly a year of working hard with added extra shifts to be able to raise enough for me to be able to raise two months of advance rent, plus all the little necessities needed to survive. (Food, being able to pay for electric etc!)

I am now in a safe place but don’t know many people around me (I live next to an elderly couple who aren’t the friendliest) and I am currently having a period, to which I am three days into and it doesn’t seem to be getting any lighter (sorry for the gross info was also diagnosed with endo at 13)

I am FTM and will be starting to get this ball rolling soon, but until then, I still have the current internal struggles as women do. 

I am asking if anyone could possibly help me get a fare to my local town to pick up a few things and then for me to be able to buy a few things whilst I’m there plus a fare back. In total probably around £40 and I am more than happy to pay this back once I get settled into my new job (2 weeks!) and get my first pay.

i just want to make this clear: to whoever threatened to out nikkietutorials as trans, you are not an ally. nikkie stated that she was blackmailed by the media because they believed she was too scared to reveal her story herself. to think that someone needs to share something so personal is abhorrent. yes, it’s great to have lgbt+ icons in the public eye, but those people should be out on their own terms. you are not an ally if you out somebody or threaten to or anything.

"I never would've guessed!" isn't an appropriate thing to say when someone comes out as transgender. it's not a fucking compliment.

"I never would've guessed" means "u look like what I consider a Real Woman to be, unlike other trans women, who I can obviously tell r trans."

can u see how that's a fucking horrifying statement for trans people – especially trans women! – to hear? our lives r on the line constantly. everything we do as trans people is a tightrope walk to make sure that whatever cis people can clock us as, it isn't trans.

"I never would've guessed" means "u got lucky" to the trans person ur saying it to. to the trans person u didn't? "u'd better hide."

you are all incredible. your voice is lovely, and whether or not you want to change it is a personal choice that does not affect the validity of your gender. you do not have a “man’s voice”. no matter how deep your voice is, if you are a woman, you have a woman’s voice. and the same goes for any other gender.

Some transgender people undergo hormone replacement therapy or sexual reassignment surgery as part of their transition. Some do not. And interestingly, their decision on this matter is, medically speaking, none of your fucking business

to my fellow chronically ill/disabled trans men/trans masculine people: don’t feel bad if you can’t wear a binder because of your chronic illness or disability

i wore a binder for about two years before getting top surgery and i still can’t properly breathe and i still majorly messed up my back because of binders, and i haven’t worn one in 4 months since my top surgery. i bound safely, i used a binder from a reputable source (gc2b) and i still got some permenant damage to my body

if you can’t do that because it would be too much of a risk to your body due to chronic illness or disability, it’s ok. yes it means you have to be a bit more aware of your dysphoria, but if you can’t do it, you can’t do it. end of discussion

don’t let anyone force you to wear a binder to “prove you’re a trans man/transmasculine person”

your health comes first.

After years of being told trans women can’t be butch - even after years of resisting that discourse publicly - I finally worked up the courage to cut my hair. I was scared of being misgendered. I was scared of being butch4butch. I was scared of being “scary” to cis people.

I have to remind myself, trans dykes are *still* good and pure. Performing your gender for others can’t make you happy, only you can.
