It's like having a garden in your back yard, and trying to maintain this garden, but for whatever reason there's just too much sunlight for your plants. There's so much sunlight it burns. It kills your plants and nothing grows.
You think it's the water, so you water them more.
You think it's the soil, so you add some fertilizer.
Eventually, when there are no other options, you think it might be the sunshine.
But plants normally love sunshine? No one else seems to have a problem with it, so why is your garden having such a hard time? Why can't your tomatoes and cucumbers be happy in the yellow morning haze? Why won't they grow like every other person's??
You're desperate at this point and aren't sure shade will help, but for right now, it's your only answer.
The umbrella is okay. It doesn't cover the whole garden, but it works for now. You start to see some green. You can feel the life resurfacing.
But your strawberries never grow back. The sun can still reach most of your garden and all the fruit is dead and dried.
Again, you are desperate for something more.
So, you take a leap of faith and plant a tree.
For the longest time it's too small, too wimpy, and too bare to do any good.
You took all this time to plant the tree, and it can't even help you right now.
But you find some patience inside of you, and you wait.
You wait and wait and wait and wait and wait.
Until you have strawberries again.
