We live in a society which values action over contemplation; outward results over inward challenges.

Our society expects education to provide preparation for success in a capitalist system rather than a broad-based, soul-affirming foundation in the humanities that may bring insight and holistic context to our experiences.

Our society dismisses the efficacy of prayer because we have been praying in the wrong direction for so long; beseeching the gods or angels to do our bidding rather than praying inwardly, "Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace."

We criticize the actions of protestors because they do not conform to our expectations of "productive" political action, all but oblivious to the fact that it is not politics as usual, but a fundamental shift in consciousness which will allow us to proceed as equals that has been the goal all along.
