recently i decided i was going to go through my old ff.net account from when i was 13-15, and read everything posted there. i was expecting to cringe and hate everything, but while the stories posted there were obviously lower quality than i expect from my writing as a 26 year old, i still saw a lot in there to like! i actually came away thinking about how i might rewrite some of them today, had i the time

a lot of people older than 20 like to make fun of their teenage selves for being cringe, but dammit, i miss having the time and creativity to write a chapter a week, or just jump into these projects. love your younger self. read your old fanfic.

not my best work? but after they got kelso back in her body, she kinda went awol for a bit. and upon their reuniting another six months later, she finally met mordred and mandolins twin kids, viola and bell. this is viola, i think. from a very young age they knew she was brimming with magic bc she didnt let very many people hold her, not in the least a fuckin tiefling that was supposed to be a godparent but went and took over a whole ass kubal instead of being with her fuckin party

i didnt really like with the way kelso’s player handled kelso’s trauma but its whatever.

this was my first attempt at perfect lines. didnt go well. kelso isnt even in this one. l-r, this is phobos, mordred, —-ndolin, and butar and what my boyfriend thinks are the best partner pokemon for them. he’s most proud of the lil melody one bc it’s the only legendary, whatever that means. im in love with mordred, shes too fuckin cute

and then davos kidnapped kelso’s soul.

davos is marc’s favorite villain. ya’ll are lucky you get the deets off the bat. several characters died for this info. he’s a litch with an obsession with the improvement of the human race and experimenting on human kids, especially orphans, which mandolin took quite personally. davos’s reach extended far deeper into the criminal underworld and farther than anyone in the party thought possible, spanning like. half the world over. there was no way they were just gonna get kelso back. so a year passed. the party split up, each to accomplish a different goal. (except for my mnm) butar was kidnapped by thor to go get stronger in a divine realm. phobos and nox went on to colonize the moon (more on that later. it was a whole side campaign, i have another character for it). and kelso spent every day being tortured by davos in a soulbox of davos’s own creation.

it hit mandolin pretty hard when the party split up bc he has abandonment issues so he started having nightmares. idk about the poem man. but he sleeps with curlers in his hair. mordred has several ability boosting tattoos, i just didnt have the talent to draw them then

anyway mandolin did what bards do best and used his sway with the king oberon of the Quentin Kingdom and queen mia of genovia to diplomat his way across several continents to win the support of seven different world leaders. mordred supported him through all of it. her charisma is a flat 10, so she just kinda. stood and looked pretty. despite the somber reason they were traveling, they had SOME semblence of fun bc it was around the seventh country they found out she was pregnant. it happened to be in a carriage with the guy they were going to instill as the next ruler. (bc obviously there was a whole subplot with vampires in the government and king oberon quentin only sent them there to hurry along the change in power)

they kidnapped orphans from around the world bc mandolin can’t stand to see kids suffer and if no one else is gonna take care of them, hela dammit he will

i should mention the only reason they were able to do this is because phobos created like thirty different businesses and started making like MONEY money with the party adventuring fund. he and his wife (triss, an artificer, absolute sweetheart) are genius inventors so. they just had the world cornered on technology. and coffee

fun fact triss is named for triss marigold bc marc has a thing for the witcher games

phobos is mostly an asshole but he has a soft spot for my bard so when mandolin asked if they could use some of the land given to them by royal decree for a school and an orphanage, he was like yknow what mandolin? sure. fuck yes lets do that

and it did not take long for mandolin to kidnap enough poor kids to populate it.

mandolin didn’t plan on proposing that night actually, he was going to wait like a respectful amount of time. but damn if she didn’t look so beautiful staring up into the sky after he took her out to dinner. he was enamoured from the moment he saw her but this. this was something else

most of this happened off screen bc i am not about to have a date with myself in front of four other people. my characters just kinda. disappeared for a night and came back giggly

so the whole party had a few adventures. made it to the kingdom of genovia. rid them of ice giants. mandolin and mordred finally got the nerve up to talk about the fact that it’s destiny for them to be together and finally fucking went on a date. mandolin proposed like three hours later, with a phobos made ring (which is in the box)

too many fuckin campaigns man. we play a lot of oneshots and one offs and side campaigns so im gonna. im gonna make a lil list bc. there’s a lot

campaign 1: mandolin, mordred, kelso, phobos root, butar, and nox

side characters: lumenis lightspark, madame lucia “luck” fortunata, gnocchio amadeus, matthias, lilac

campaign 2: thistle bushmun, xia yang, daubeny/sam eye el, and nola

side characters include deimos root, bell, viola, simon

campaign 2b: bubbles, penne, roseline, akali lux, kyro

side characters include nate, orzo

campaign 2c: gristle, sinatra, and brin

campaign 2g: pip, rue, and scribble. the g stands for goblins.

campaign 3: amara coldfell, mara, and otamori

pink is mine, red is marc’s, and i labeled the other players’ characters for continuity although i’m not sure it matters bc i don’t really draw them

this will be updated as i remember names. theres so many more characters that are just side characters and gosh i just love them

this is like. the whole world. mostly just the continents are named but heres a quick and dirty rundown:

ionia- the starting continent for mandolin and mordred. theyre from the quentin kingdom and take up a base in the city of trostenwold. this is also home to the secret elven city erlathain and the kingdom of the dark elves, genovia. somewhere in there is the heavenly coast but fuck if i know where it is

hakkaido- fantasy feudal japan bc my fellow party members are fuckin weebs. isolationist until mandolin visits to tell the emperor davos probably is going to set up shop there. little does he know that that’s where davos is defeated over two decades later. for some reason, it has centaurs and completely civilized goblins. also excellent sushi

athenus- capital monarchical shitty place, in campaign 2, we lowkey kidnap the prince and cause the death of the king. the two are not related. this is also where most of campaign 2 takes place.

noctis- my personal brain child. a mostly democratic continent ruled by the council of 99 i created to start dming and marc just kind of uses it for anything. its where campaign 2 and 2b start, with 2b starting the year before. its also the home of castletown bard college, halfling mafia, and limerick’s circus troupe. it’s probably the second most fleshed out continent.

exandria- a lawless continent taken directly from matt mercer thru the lens of literally whatever marc has on his mind at the moment. as of right now it’s the place that jimin and orvar are exploring. it has a reputation of being kinda thin, dimension wise, and incredibly magic charged. lots of weird shit. lots of illegal shit.

sumera- isolationist desert continent ruled by an immortal druid queen. she is a shitty mother, but a fair ruler. that’s phobos and deimos’s mom. we dont find that out til mid campaign. much rioting. home of a tree of life that gives a seed once a century. is actually a turtle.

beastman island- where butar is from. its super shitty. the beastmen were enslaved for centuries. nonbeastmen cannot set foot on its shores

sicerillan- idk man, i wrote it in and we both fuckin forgot about it

theres also the dark continent which is its own world and several continents put together but i can’t talk about that until campaign 3 bc it’s after a fucking multi dimension convergence bc marc loves convoluted storytelling

the whole universe starts with these two, mandolin and mordred, meeting each other. mandolins an human orphan raised by a bard named madame luck. mordred’s a wood elf cleric who’s lost most of her family to the war with the dark elves of genovia. theyre the two dnd characters i played in campaign 1 which was a pain in the ass bc theyre both spellcasters but i did it and i love them. theyre soulmates. hela, mordred’s god, made mandolin specifically for mordred because hela knew she’d be the first cleric that chose her in like a thousand years. so obviously she’s very fond of mordred. thats why she split her soul and made mandolin with the other half. this is also a reference to the fact that i play both of them. it was love at first sight, for me and for them. im in love with them. i have been drawing them for the better part of two years. i am currently crocheting dolls of them. this particular doodle is a toga party bc mandolin and mordred wanted to have one.

this is all lore that i’ve collected and collected with nowhere to put it and it’s about time i get some attention for it.

it was marc’s first time dming me and the rest of us and he just makes shit up as he goes. he steals a lot, like from the princess diaries and matt mercer.

the rest of the party:

phobos is a gunslinger halfling, the first of his kind and a genius. (also pictured. im sure you can figure out which one he is)

nox is an elven time wizard from a lost city. his player joined late, so marc had to work overtime to get him incorporated but it ended up being a whole world shattering plot point that nox even exists so. it works

kelso the red tiefling asshole monk with a criminal past

butar the beastman (homebrew race that marc’s entirely too generous with) barbarian who used to be a pirate but now just kinda. kills things

but obviously my characters are the only ones that matter

also i co-dm a whole homebrew universe with my boyfriend and like to draw so ya’ll are gonna be getting a lot of fictional history
