Egyptian Glass Inlay in the Form of an Eye (glass and gypsum, 1.4 x 4.6 cms). Intended for a statue, the eye is outlined in blue glass and has an opaque white sclera and black pupil. New Kingdom, ca. 1540-1070 BC. Now in the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles.
Can you identify the designer of this circa 1980 poster? Let us know!
This work was donated to the Cooper Hewitt by Steven Heller and Karrie Jacobs. It bears a resemblance to other posters the pair donated which have been attributed to cheap art. We’d love to know more about the creator/s of these posters.

THEY WILL BE FREE is back for a limited time!
You can stream the entire album and buy the digital version, CD + bonus tracks, or Mission Control Package (with bonus tracks, mission patch sticker, mission log booklet, pictured above) on Bandcamp until January 4, 2018!
The EARTHLING (EARTH search for Life IN the universe Grand tour) 1 mission was a series of probes of astrobiological “targets” as a “grand tour,” in homage to the Voyager mission. Due to the expected duration of the mission, a single astronaut was chosen to pilot the system, deploy its probes, and perform the experiments or initiate automated laboratory instrument functions as necessary. This astronaut was understood to not return to Earth after arrival at TRAPPIST-1e.
THEY WILL BE FREE is a song cycle that follows the EARTHLING 1 mission, narrated by two astronauts and the worlds they visit. Using traditional composition, electro-acoustics with both vintage and modern space exploration audio, nods to Indian classical music, and poetic storytelling, TWBF illustrates an epic tale of hope, desperation, and liberation. The digital album includes an eBook of the full-color lyrics booklet.
The album is only being sold through January 4 so make sure to check it out! x
