what do you guys use as binders? i've been wearing sports bras with no padding, but i've been thinking about switching it up a bit because the idea of wearing a "bra" is a little uncomfortable for me. (i'm not trans, but i feel more comfortable in a masculine body.)

i'm still quite new to this as i only started to discover my identity not long ago, but i've read up on binding and there's a lot of anecdotal evidence about the negative side effects (skin irritation, chest pain etc.) so i was wondering if anyone has any methods of binding which cause the least severe side effects.

i'm pretty small so it's not difficult for me to "flatten" my chest but i feel better wearing something that puts pressure around my upper torso.

apologies if this wildly deviates from the rest of my blog! i'd be really grateful for any tips or suggestions.

I don’t know what you already know about binding? so I’m just going to say shit and hope it’s helpful. Sorry if it’s not.

Umm, I mean. Actual binders are the safest and best way to bind. You just have to make sure you’re smart and safe with them.

the most mainstream binder company is GC2B. that’s where I got mine and I love it. But other reputable companies include shapeshifters, Flavnt and others.

Basic binder rules.

-only wear it for eight hours at a time.

-no working out in it.

-no sleeping in it.

-if it starts to hurt or you’re having trouble breathing TAKE IT OFF.

-always bring something as back up for if you need to take it off.

you can also bind using kt tape or something similar. (They even sell tape marketed towards trans people.) but you have to look up how to do it correctly and safely (it’s not just wrapping it around your chest. )

You shouldn’t bind with tape everyday to my understanding.

Never bond with ace bandages or duct tape. Or anything similar. You could really hurt yourself.
